Among its portfolio, the Hotel Van Zandt in Austin, Texas, stands out as a vibrant venue that marries upscale comfort with a creative ambiance. Within the hotel, the newly built Brass Poppy lobby bar offers a unique and captivating destination that embodies the spirit of Austin's artistic and eclectic culture. At the Brass Poppy, hospitality is not simply about service; it is about creating the unexpected and unforgettable. The bar's intentional design blends nostalgic elements with contemporary flair, crafting an inviting atmosphere that sparks conversation and celebration.

We are currently seeking a Part-time Bartender to join our team at Brass Poppy. This role is fundamental in delivering the unique experience that guests have come to expect from the venue. The bartender will be responsible for the setup, mixing of drinks, service, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the bar area, all while maintaining high standards for both guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. This position is regular part-time, offering work in an environment that celebrates individuality and creative spirit.

The ideal candidate will bring a passion for mixology and a commitment to delivering legendary service. At the Brass Poppy, every drink tells a story, and as a bartender, you will be an integral part of narrating those stories through expertly crafted cocktails and warm hospitality. Your ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adhere to safety standards, and engage with guests in a professional and friendly manner will be essential to your success.

This position offers a competitive hourly wage of USD 7.25 per hour, with additional tips, reflecting the role’s tipped nature. The job requires the candidate to have at least six months of bartending experience, possess bartending training and certification, and be TIPS certified. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages legally.

Physical demands include the ability to lift trays and racks weighing between 20 to 40 pounds, push heavy carts and portable bars ranging from 50 to 100 pounds, and stand continuously throughout shifts. Mobility and the ability to navigate narrow spaces and busy environments efficiently are also required. Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions in English are essential, as is the capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail under pressure.

Joining Sage Hospitality Group and working at the Brass Poppy means becoming part of a community that values creativity, excellence, and heartfelt service.
