Job Description

The Junto is a contemporary establishment inspired by the ethos and vision of Ben Franklin’s historic club, also named The Junto, which was a gathering place for mutual improvement and the exchange of ideas. This modern incarnation carries forward that legacy by creating a welcoming public space that fosters connection among visitors, locals, entrepreneurs, and artists in Columbus. Located in a vibrant and evolving city, The Junto is a boutique hotel designed to be both a landmark and a destination where community and collaboration thrive. The hotel emphasizes inclusivity and shared experience, offering its guests not just a place to stay but a venue that encourages dialogue, creativity, and inspiration. With thoughtfully designed public gathering spaces, The Junto stands as a symbol of Columbus' cultural and social future, aiming to add value and identity to the region.

The role of Host at The Junto is pivotal in shaping the welcoming atmosphere that the establishment is known for. As the first point of contact for guests, the Host embodies warmth, organization, and readiness to respond to challenges with a positive attitude. This role requires strong communication skills and a genuine passion for hospitality, ensuring every guest feels like a friend while enjoying an exceptional dining experience. The Host is responsible for managing reservations, seating guests strategically to optimize service flow, and promptly handling inquiries and requests. This position also demands flexibility, as weekend and evening availability are required to meet operational needs. Bringing previous restaurant experience is highly preferred, equipping the Host to navigate the dynamic environment of a busy dining venue. Beyond the essential duties, the Host contributes to maintaining a neat, organized, and welcoming environment that reflects The Junto's high standards. The position offers an opportunity to be part of a team that values individuality and collaboration through the company’s guiding principles. As part of the Makeready collection, The Junto offers competitive benefits that emphasize the health, happiness, and wellbeing of its team members. These benefits include accommodating paid time off options, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, family leave, pet insurance, retirement savings plans with employer matching, and unique perks such as student loan repayment programs. The organization prides itself on fostering an inclusive, equal opportunity workplace where successes are earned through merit and respectful support of diversity. Joining The Junto as a Host means becoming part of a forward-thinking community-focused brand where hospitality extends beyond service to creating genuine connections that enrich the guest experience and the city’s cultural fabric.
