Job Description

Green + The Grain is a contemporary, local, woman and minority owned, fast casual salad chain based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. What began as a food truck has grown into multiple metropolitan locations, with ongoing expansion through franchising. We are currently seeking a Kitchen Manager to join our team at Green + The Grain. This role is a full-time position with a schedule from Monday through Friday, 7AM to 3PM, with no nights, weekends, or holidays required. The Kitchen Manager is a detail-oriented and quality-driven leader responsible for overseeing all back of house operations, including preparation, inventory management, food safety compliance, and recipe execution to maintain brand consistency and excellence. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a passion for culinary excellence, and leads with accountability and teamwork.

As the Kitchen Manager, you will work closely with franchise owners and the management team to ensure operational standards are met, coach and train kitchen staff, manage shifts and schedules, and uphold the highest levels of cleanliness and food safety. You will be responsible for inventory control, minimizing waste, managing food costs, and supporting problem-solving efforts when operational challenges arise. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in kitchen management or culinary leadership
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to lead a team effectively
  • proficiency with POS and kitchen display systems
  • excellent communication skills
  • strong organizational skills
  • ability to work full time Monday through Friday 7AM to 3PM with no nights weekends or holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Previous kitchen management or culinary leadership experience required

Job Duties

  • Oversee and manage all back of house operations including prep and inventory
  • support the franchise owners and management teams in daily operations and decision making
  • lead by example fostering a culture of accountability teamwork and excellence
  • handle shift management including opening and closing responsibilities
  • train coach and supervise kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safe food handling processes
  • ensure all recipes are prepared with accuracy consistency and attention to detail
  • uphold the highest standards of food safety sanitation and cleanliness
  • conduct regular quality checks on ingredients prep ensuring food safety and quality standards are being met consistently
  • assist with scheduling labor management and inventory control
  • monitor and control inventory minimize waste and manage food costs effectively
  • provide problem solving and conflict resolution support when needed
  • maintain compliance with health department regulations and company policies
  • partner with the franchise owners and management team to execute smooth service during peak hours
  • contribute to achieving KPI goals and operational company targets when applicable
