The San Leandro, CA branch is currently hiring a Branch Manager II to oversee daily retail store operations. This role is essential in advancing sales and margin goals by leading efforts in promoting sales, delivering excellent customer service, nurturing inventory levels, and managing expenses effectively. The Branch Manager will also ensure strict compliance with safety and regulatory standards while empowering team members to sustain operational excellence including efficient customer service, housekeeping, and overall branch productivity. The position offers a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $95,000, inclusive of bonus opportunities, Monday to Friday daytime hours, and a full scope of benefits supporting family and future financial security.
The Branch Manager’s responsibilities include acting as a key liaison between employees and management, mentoring performance alongside HR and senior leaders, supporting outside sales activities, managing financial transactions, and cultivating inventory and vendor relationships. Emphasis is placed on leadership in a customer-facing retail or industrial distribution environment with a clear aim of nurturing team growth and operational efficiency. Candidates are expected to be self-motivated and possess excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively at all levels of the branch operation.

Job Requirements

- 2+ years of leadership experience in a customer facing environment
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and occasionally up to 125 lbs with material handling equipment
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong communication skills

- Ability to manage multiple priorities

Job Qualifications
- 2+ leadership experience in a customer facing environment
- Background in supporting and leading teams within a retail or industrial distribution environment
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and occasionally up to 125 lbs with the aid of material handling equipment
- Proficient computer skills and an interest in learning new digital tools
- Ability to navigate multiple priorities concurrently
- Self-motivated with a focus on contributing to the overall team's success
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively act as a bridge between staff and management
- Preferred qualifications include a track record of meaningful contributions in the welding, gas, or safety industry
- 2+ management experience in a customer facing environment
- 3+ years of experience in a role focused on nurturing team growth and operational efficiency
- 5+ years’ experience in sales with a track record of meaningful contributions
- Experience with inventory cultivation and vendor relationship support
Job Duties
- Provide professional customer service for all internal and external customers and call-in product, pricing, and technical inquiries
- Support the outside sales team in nurturing existing client relationships and welcoming new business opportunities
- Support the flow of accurate and timely daily processing of financial transactions, including cash reports, charge tickets, coding, costing, pricing, daily cash summaries, and bank deposits
- Maintain the accuracy of back order, open order, and Purchase Order (PO) expedite reports
- Cultivate and refine appropriate cylinder and hard goods inventory levels for the branch
- Facilitate and lead training for inside sales associates on product knowledge, company policies, processes, procedures, and safety, ensuring the confidence that all associates can perform essential branch functions
- Conduct periodic performance reviews for branch associates
- Act as a bridge between employees and management, providing performance mentorship and guidance in collaboration with Human Resources and senior management
