Job Description

Sherwin-Williams is a leading global manufacturer and distributor of paints, coatings, and related products. The company is widely recognized for its commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability, aiming to inspire and improve the world by coloring and protecting what matters. Sherwin-Williams operates a diverse network of branches and facilities across various regions, serving a broad spectrum of customers including contractors, automotive industries, retail clients, and more. They are dedicated to supporting their employees with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for career growth within a stable and growing business environment.

The role being offered is a full-time position at the Automotive Branch #9850 located at 754 Kevin Ct, Oakland, CA. This position requires the selected individual to work Monday through Friday between 8 AM and 5 PM, with hours potentially adjusted based on business needs. This position is integral to the daily operations of the branch, requiring close interaction with customers, including minors, and handling sensitive company assets such as cash, electronic equipment, personal information, and store merchandise. For this reason, Sherwin-Williams conducts thorough criminal history reviews to ensure the safety of customers, employees, vendors, and the public.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the branch market plan aligned with market conditions, branch mission, and financial/budget objectives. You will actively engage in field sales to grow existing and potential accounts, supporting the sales team to drive customer outreach and increase revenue. Accurate processing of customer orders and maintenance of records according to company standards will be part of your responsibilities. You will manage purchases from outside vendors, ensure vehicle maintenance, and oversee merchandising efforts in the branch per company guidelines. Maintaining organized warehouse operations and accurate inventory will be critical to driving sales and turnover.

You will uphold safety, loss prevention, and security protocols, managing compliance and addressing any deviations promptly. Financial responsibilities include participating in budget planning, monitoring reports to enhance branch performance, managing receivables, payables, and daily bank deposits. Staffing decisions, recruitment, scheduling, and performance management of branch employees will require your oversight to meet operational goals. You will implement follow-up programs for delinquent accounts, conduct credit investigations, and target key market segments to support new business development.

Providing timely performance feedback, conducting coaching sessions, and ensuring adherence to company safety standards are vital aspects of this leadership role. Additionally, you will conduct targeted market research to shape branch marketing strategies, competitor profiling, and customer analysis. This position requires up to 25% travel for field sales and business development activities.

Sherwin-Williams values diversity, equity, and inclusion; is an equal employment opportunity employer; and provides priority referrals for protected veterans. The company offers a robust benefits package that includes health care, retirement plans, paid time off, and other wellness programs. Compensation is determined based on experience, skill set, and organizational needs, with transparency about wage ranges and consideration of geographic differentials. Sherwin-Williams is committed to integrity throughout the recruitment process and ensures candidates are not asked for financial or sensitive personal information.
