Airgas is dedicated to fostering a culture rooted in safety, customer success, sustainability, and innovation. The company values diversity and inclusion, believing that varied backgrounds contribute to a stronger, more innovative workplace where every employee feels respected, honored, and valued.
The Branch Manager position based in Little Rock, AR, at the East Broadway Retail Shop is a crucial role designed for leadership and operational excellence. This full-time daytime role, Monday through Friday, offers a competitive base pay plus bonus and a comprehensive benefits package primed to support employees and their families. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), disability insurance, 14 weeks of paid childbirth leave, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, tuition assistance, paid holidays, vacation, and sick time. Employees start receiving benefits after just 30 days of employment, highlighting Airgas’ commitment to employee well-being from the outset.
As a Branch Manager, you will oversee all store operations with the goal of advancing sales and margin targets. Your leadership will be key in promoting sales, delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining efficient inventory levels, and balancing expenses through purchasing support. You will ensure that the branch complies with safety and regulatory standards, empowering your team to provide efficient service while maintaining high standards of housekeeping and operational efficiency.
This role also involves providing support to the outside sales team by nurturing existing client relationships and welcoming new business opportunities. You will manage daily financial transactions accurately and on time, including cash reports, charge tickets, pricing, daily cash summaries, and bank deposits. Maintaining inventory accuracy, managing purchase orders, and expediting reports are also essential duties. Leading training sessions to build product knowledge, company policies, and safety understanding among inside sales associates will be your responsibility, ensuring that each team member is capable of performing essential branch functions.
Furthermore, the Branch Manager conducts performance reviews, acts as a bridge for communication between employees and management, and provides mentorship in collaboration with Human Resources. You will participate in market and competitor analysis and sales forecasting to keep the branch competitive and responsive to market dynamics. Adhering strictly to all federal, state, and company policies and procedures is mandatory.
Airgas is looking for a motivated, self-driven individual with strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently. The ideal candidate will have prior management experience in a customer-facing environment, preferably within retail or industrial distribution. Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds (occasionally up to 125 pounds with equipment) is required. Proficiency in computer skills and openness to learning new digital tools is essential.
Joining Airgas means becoming part of a vibrant, inclusive workplace where your contributions directly impact team and company success. You will find an environment that respects diversity, honors individual and group talents, and values long-term growth and career development. As part of a large, trusted company known for safety, innovation, and quality products, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference while advancing your professional career.
