The Branch Banking Management Military Apprentice (SAFE) role within Wells Fargo's National Branch Network is an integral position in the Consumer Banking and Lending division. This full-time apprenticeship is designed specifically for individuals with military experience who seek to transition into management roles within the banking industry. The program combines on-the-job training, coursework, and mentorship to develop the apprentice's skills, preparing them to become fully functioning Associate Branch Managers. Apprentices are tasked with leading diverse teams, creating a highly engaging culture, and driving business growth through impeccable customer service and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities include managing branch resources, guiding customer interactions, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements. Job Requirements
- Enrollment into Wells Fargo's DOL Registered Apprentice Program is required
- SAFE registration at time of employment and ongoing compliance including background checks
- Current or previous military experience required
- Adhere to Wells Fargo policies, procedures and employee expectations
- Meet Loan Originator requirements under Regulation Z
- Ability to successfully complete apprenticeship training and evaluations
- Maintain professional and ethical standards consistent with Wells Fargo's values
- Ability to comply with drug-free workplace policy
- Strong commitment to risk management and compliance obligations
Job Qualifications
- 2 plus years of finance or budgetary experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience or education
- Military experience in any branch of service such as Army, National Guard, Air Force, Space Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, or Reserves
- 2 plus years of leadership experience
- Military experience in a customer facing role
- Relevant military experience in personnel benefits management, military personnel orders or transitions, wartime readiness operations, human resources or military recruiting
- Leadership experience including coaching, training and building high-performing teams
- Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with customers and internal partners
- Strong communication skills including verbal, written and interpersonal
- Self-motivated with high initiative and accountability
- Ability to work effectively in teams and across organizational levels
- Ability to interact with integrity and professionalism with customers and team members
- Effective time management, independent judgement and critical thinking skills
- Proficient in navigating multiple computer systems and utilizing search tools
- Knowledge of compliance controls, risk management and loss prevention
- Relevant military experience with military protocol, enlisted evaluations, officer and leadership reporting
Job Duties
- Participate in less complex initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvements within branch banking functional area
- Review and analyze business, operational, or technical assignments requiring research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives
- Present recommendations for resolving complex situations and develop expertise in branch banking policies and compliance
- Collaborate and consult with branch banking colleagues, internal partners, and customers
- Perform structured duties including on-the-job training, coursework, and mentorship under supervision
- Assist with customer transactions as needed to provide exceptional customer experience
- Comply with SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act and maintain necessary registrations
