The Non CDL Driver I position at US Foods is a pivotal delivery role responsible for operating company vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) limit of 14,900 pounds. This full-time role, scheduled Tuesday through Saturday, offers a starting pay of $23.60 per hour and can go up to $25.60 depending on experience and qualifications. The driver will be responsible for delivering foodservice products to various stops while maintaining a high level of customer service and adhering to the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. This position requires the individual to lift and carry weights frequently and use safe loading and unloading techniques. Job Requirements
- must be 21 years of age or older
- must pass pre-employment testing including drug screen and background check
- must be able to meet DOT medical requirements
- one year multi-stop delivery experience preferred or six months local delivery or foodservice industry experience
- able to use safe lifting and loading techniques
- availability to work weekends, holidays and overtime
- no commercial or professional driving experience required
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED preferred
- valid U.S. driver’s license with proper endorsements if required
- clean driving record with no more than two traffic convictions in past two years, no DUI in past three years, no license suspensions in past three years
- ability to pass DOT physical
- ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- basic math skills
- knowledge of area and map reading abilities
- great interpersonal and customer service skills
Job Duties
- drive company vehicle limited to 14,900 GVW
- deliver foodservice products to assigned stops with high level of customer service
- lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally
- load and unload delivery vehicle
- use hand truck to move products including up and down stairs
- accurately record delivery information and documentation
- communicate delivery or customer issues to proper authority
