Job Requirements
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary workplace language
- Must be able to read and write
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computational ability
- Basic computer skills and complete knowledge of POS system
- Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware
- Must be able to use suggestive selling techniques
- Knowledge of service guidelines outlined in Front Server Manual
- Knowledge of products and specifications in menu and beverage manuals
- Must be impeccably groomed and maintain good hygiene
- Must be responsive to feedback from chefs and managers
- Must be minimum age to serve alcohol
- High school or equivalent education
- Cleanliness, organization, and teamwork skills
- Must be able to stand and move for long periods
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 30 pounds
- Ability to work in varying temperature conditions
- Ability to perform physical demands including bending, stooping, and reaching
- Manual dexterity to operate equipment
- Responsive to constructive feedback

Job Qualifications
- Minimum 3-4 years of fine dining leadership experience
- Extensive knowledge of food and wine
- Strong dedication to learning and progression in fine dining
- Excellent basic math skills
- Ability to operate POS systems and Microsoft-based computer systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Financial acumen
- Preferred BINWISE and InDesign experience
- MS Level Two certification preferred
- Knowledge of service guidelines and dinner menu matrix
- Ability to describe menu items, prices, and preparation
- Excellent communication skills
Job Duties
- Understand and perform job duties according to Bourbon Steak and restaurant service, food, beverage and wine manuals
- Recommend and sell wine to guests
- Manage inventory, ordering, and maintenance of wine cellar, wine lists and related collateral
- Conduct monthly wine inventories and prepare inventory reports
- Maintain budget and control costs of goods sold related to wine
- Coordinate service execution with other sommeliers, captains, and managers
- Facilitate communication between front of house and back of house
- Describe dinner features and menu changes to guests
- Communicate VIP procedures and special requests with management and chefs
- Conduct continuous wine training for service team and new hires
- Participate in pre-shift meetings and present new menu items
- Welcome guests and provide professional, responsive service
- Answer menu and wine list questions
- Liaise with servers to ensure guest needs are met
- Assist chefs in expediting food
- Ensure food and products meet restaurant standards
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in dining areas
- Comply with all health, safety, and labor regulations
- Train new employees and monitor early performance
- Supervise restaurant operations during service and monitor guest satisfaction
- Support service staff including servers, bussers, and food runners with service tasks and VIP handling
- Inspect dining room for setup and cleanliness
- Record nightly information and complete logs
