Job Description

Swissport is a global leader in aviation services, providing comprehensive Ground Handling, Cargo Handling, and Passenger Services to over 300 million passengers annually. As a company deeply embedded in the fast-paced and ever-evolving aviation industry, Swissport has built a reputation for delivering consistent, tailor-made solutions designed to enhance the customer experience worldwide. With operations spanning numerous locations across the globe, Swissport’s mission is to ensure seamless and high-quality service delivery that meets the unique needs of the aviation sector. The company prides itself on its people-driven culture and operates under core values that include Show You Care, Do the Right Things, and Win as a Team, which guide every aspect of its business.

Swissport is currently seeking a motivated and hands-on Sous Chef to join their team within their premium airport lounge operations. This role is critical in supporting the daily culinary functions, ensuring fresh, high-quality food preparation and presentation that aligns with Swissport’s brand and rigorous food safety standards. The Sous Chef will work under the leadership of the Chef and will play a key role in coaching and guiding lounge team members, including those without formal kitchen experience, to maintain consistent excellence and elevate the overall guest experience. This position offers an annual salary of $75,000 and is a full-time opportunity that includes a comprehensive range of health and wellness benefits, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid vacation, sick time, and company-paid holidays.

In this role, the Sous Chef will manage a variety of kitchen operations ranging from food preparation and service to inventory management and cost control. The position demands strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while keeping high standards for food quality and hygiene. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Line Cook in a high-volume environment such as an airport lounge, hospitality venue, hotel, or restaurant. Expertise in food safety and sanitation is essential, as is a demonstrated aptitude for training and mentoring team members from diverse backgrounds and experience levels. The Sous Chef will also ensure kitchen operations run smoothly during the Chef’s absence, fostering teamwork and smooth collaboration with front-of-house staff to guarantee a seamless service experience for guests.

Applicants must be flexible with scheduling, as the role requires availability during early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the dynamic demands of airport lounge service. This is a unique opportunity to join a global company that values inclusion, diversity, and teamwork while advancing your culinary career within the vibrant aviation industry. Swissport is committed to providing equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status, promoting a workplace where all qualified applicants can thrive and contribute to the company’s ongoing success.
