Job Description

Unify is a distinguished CPA firm located in the heart of Fort Collins, Colorado, a vibrant college town known for its unique character and community spirit. Positioned prominently at the intersection of College and Mountain avenues, the Unify building and sign are well-recognized landmarks within Old Town, a bustling area that embodies the quirky and dynamic culture of the region. Despite being a CPA firm, Unify sets itself apart by not engaging in traditional audits, nor does it focus solely on tax-related services. Instead, Unify offers a comprehensive range of strategic business advisory services on a subscription basis throughout the year. This innovative approach allows the firm to maintain close, ongoing relationships with its clients, providing expert counsel that directly supports the day-to-day business operations and long-term growth strategies of small businesses in the community.

Unify's commitment to delivering personalized and proactive business advice means its team members, including staff accountants, play an essential customer-facing role that goes beyond conventional accounting tasks. The firm fosters an engaging and collaborative environment where professionals are encouraged to bring energy, creativity, and problem-solving skills to the table. Staff Accountants at Unify will find themselves involved not only in typical bookkeeping and reconciliation duties, but also actively contributing to client projects and offering insightful guidance on various business matters ranging from sales tax management to operational improvements. This role requires professionals who are passionate about serving small business owners and dedicated to providing exceptional client support.

The Staff Accountant position at Unify offers a unique blend of responsibilities that provide variety and opportunity for growth. Unlike traditional roles that focus heavily on accounts payable/receivable, this role emphasizes a broader spectrum of accounting functions including preparing monthly bank reconciliations, sales tax returns, and 1099 forms, alongside maintaining general correspondence and report generation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong aptitude for figures, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent organizational abilities. Unify seeks individuals who are self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal oversight, and who thrive in a professional setting that values trust, integrity, and collaboration.

Compensation for this role is competitive, with an annual salary range of $40,000 to $65,000 determined by relevant experience. This position requires in-person attendance, allowing for close collaboration with team members and direct client interaction. Unify also offers a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) matching, dental, health, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to the well-being and professional development of its employees. If you are looking for a rewarding accounting career within a forward-thinking firm that values your expertise and offers the chance to make an impactful difference to small businesses, Unify presents an exceptional opportunity.
