As a Prep Cook in our kitchen, you hold a vital position in ensuring that every meal starts on the right foot. Your role involves meticulously preparing ingredients, adhering to recipe guidelines, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in your work area. This position demands a strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and efficiently, as your contributions directly influence the quality and timeliness of the dishes served. You will follow prep lists and instructions from the Executive or Sous Chef, ensuring that proteins, vegetables, and other ingredients are correctly seasoned, measured, and portioned. Beyond preparation, you are responsible for stocking and labeling ingredients to facilitate smooth kitchen operations.
Additionally, the role requires you to assist in general kitchen duties, including backing up during AM and PM shifts for steam table setup and maintenance, dishwashing, trash removal, and other essential tasks needed to keep the kitchen running seamlessly. You must be capable of maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation and practicing proper food safety procedures at all times. The position demands physical stamina, as standing for the entire shift and lifting up to 40 pounds multiple times are essential aspects of the job.
