Renowned for its expertise in earthwork, concrete construction, steel erection, and other mission-critical infrastructure services, Spencer Construction has positioned itself as a leader within the heavy civil construction industry. The company prides itself on its deep industry knowledge supported by a leadership team with decades of combined experience. This experience translates into a culture focused on excellence, innovation, and reliability across every project Spencer Construction undertakes. Their unwavering mission is to build and safeguard America through the development, enhancement, and maintenance of border infrastructure, community assets, and heavy civil works. Spencer Construction offers a stable employment environment with competitive compensation and professional growth opportunities, reflecting its commitment to its workforce and project excellence.

The Air Boat Operator position plays a vital role in supporting Spencer Construction’s heavy civil construction and waterborne project operations. This position demands an individual who can safely operate and maintain air boats to facilitate personnel transport, materials handling, and equipment movement across various waterways. The role's primary focus is on providing critical waterborne access for remote construction locations, ensuring that crews and equipment arrive efficiently and safely to the job sites. The operator assists construction teams with installation, maintenance, inspection, and general operational support from waterways, often in shallow or challenging water environments. Daily responsibilities include thorough inspections and routine maintenance of air boat equipment, managing loading and unloading processes while maintaining vessel stability, and adhering strictly to safety standards and environmental requirements. Communication with supervisors, foremen, and crew members is essential for maintaining smooth operations and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. This position offers an opportunity to work outdoors and in remote areas, necessitating a strong awareness of environmental conditions and hazards. Spencer Construction values safety above all and expects the Air Boat Operator to demonstrate consistent commitment to OSHA standards and company safety policies. This role not only requires technical skill in operating air boats but also demands adaptability, teamwork, and a proactive approach to supporting the broader construction activities at various job sites. Candidates with at least three years of heavy equipment operation experience, a strong safety orientation, and the ability to collaborate effectively are well-suited to thrive in this dynamic position. Spencer Construction offers competitive pay and benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401K retirement plans with employer match, ensuring that employees are supported both professionally and personally in their growth and success within the company.
