Job Duties

  • Greet and seat guests pleasantly, quickly, and efficiently
  • ensure proper service
  • ensure the efficient and smooth operation of the restaurant
  • communicate guest opportunities or situations to management or relief personnel
  • answer phones, take and coordinate reservations
  • have knowledge of service employees responsibilities including food servers, bus persons, and runners
  • have detailed knowledge of the facility and amenities
  • monitor dining room activities including service standards, bussing tables, station assignments, special functions, and guest presence
  • run cash register and handle money
  • ensure employee safety
  • assist in bussing and resetting tables
  • remove debris from the floor as necessary
  • monitor door to ensure prompt seating of guests
  • maintain cleanliness of host stand, floors, menus, signage, and special boards
  • responsible for register bank and all money, charges, and comps collected during shift
  • have knowledge of all methods of check tendering
  • balance all checks at end of shift and turn in work neatly
