Job Description
Delaware North Sportservice is a renowned hospitality and food service company known for its extensive operations across premier sporting venues, national parks, casinos, and other entertainment destinations worldwide. Established more than 100 years ago, Delaware North has built a legacy as a family-owned enterprise, focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences through an array of dining and concession services. One of its prominent operations is at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia, the state-of-the-art ballpark home to the Major League Baseball's Atlanta Braves since 2016. Delaware North manages concessions, premium dining, and restaurants within this iconic venue, providing visitors with diverse culinary options and memorable dining moments during the baseball season and events hosted at the park.
Delaware North is currently seeking a seasonal Cook 3 to join their dynamic team at Truist Park. This position is designed for experienced culinary professionals who thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment and are eager to demonstrate leadership and culinary skills. As a Cook 3, the selected candidate plays a crucial role in ensuring high-quality food preparation, maintaining kitchen sanitation standards, and collaborating with management to execute planned menus and control costs. This seasonal role runs from March through October, aligned with the baseball season, including postseason if applicable.
This role offers a competitive hourly wage of $20.05 and includes access to a comprehensive benefits package that supports employees' personal and professional well-being. Delaware North values its team members and provides opportunities for training and development, flexible work schedules, and employee discounts, among others. Eligible employees may further benefit from health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid vacation and holidays, parental bonding leave, employee assistance programs, and tuition or professional certification reimbursement.
In this position, the Cook 3 will be responsible for reviewing menus and customer orders to determine the type and quantity of food preparation needed, ensuring adherence to portion sizes and quality standards. The Cook 3 will oversee the organization and cleanliness of workstations, coolers, and kitchen equipment while maintaining food safety and sanitation procedures according to health regulations. Monitoring and documenting waste in compliance with waste control guidelines is also part of the role, alongside performing opening, closing, and side work duties, and conducting end-of-day inventory audits.
Ideal candidates for this position will have at least two years of experience in back-of-the-house food service roles, possess the ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes, and demonstrate basic math skills required to follow recipe measurements precisely. The physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, exposure to variable temperatures, standing and walking throughout shifts, and operating various kitchen equipment requiring manual dexterity. The position accommodates workdays, evenings, holidays, weekends, and events, reflecting the dynamic and often high-volume nature of the stadium environment.
Joining Delaware North means becoming part of a global company committed to fostering employee growth and success within hospitality. The company's longstanding history and diverse operations offer an unparalleled platform for those seeking rewarding careers in the culinary and hospitality industries. If you are passionate about cooking, enjoy working in a lively team environment, and want to contribute to creating unforgettable dining experiences for thousands of sports and entertainment fans, the seasonal Cook 3 role at Truist Park is an excellent opportunity to ignite your culinary career.
