The Technician-Blending role is a critical position within the Tennessee Valley division, designed to ensure the precise blending of syrups and hot fill finished products from concentrate. This role requires a dependable professional committed to maintaining high production standards and adhering to strict quality assurance protocols. The Technician-Blending will work the night shift from 10 pm to 6:30 am Monday through Friday, with additional weekend shifts and overtime as necessary, demanding flexibility and reliability.

In this role, the Technician-Blending will utilize proper blending techniques, including batch and ingredient scanning, to guarantee product consistency and quality. The position involves diligent inventory maintenance, ingredient ordering, receipt inspection, and rigorous testing of syrup and finished products to meet company standards. Equipment sanitation, both internal and external, is a vital part of daily duties, ensuring cleanliness and compliance with good manufacturing practices. The role also includes monitoring water quality by collecting and testing for pH, taste, odor, and appearance.

Safety is paramount at Coca-Cola UNITED, and the Technician-Blending must consistently follow safety policies and use personal protective equipment. The position requires strong organizational skills, basic mathematical abilities for conversions, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel, to document and report production data accurately. Job Requirements

  • Minimum age 18 years old
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
  • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within company guidelines
  • Ability to maintain safety and security of company assets
  • Ability to utilize all company provided resources and technology
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) preferred
  • Basic math skills to include basic unit conversions
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to work in high stress environments and multitask effectively
  • Ability to work with others

Job Duties

  • Practice proper blending techniques to include batch and ingredient scanning
  • Properly maintain and document inventory as required
  • Ingredient ordering, receiving, inspecting, and testing as required
  • Syrup and finished product (hot fill) testing as required
  • Maintain blending equipment through proper sanitizing techniques
  • Utilize proper good manufacturing practices
  • Collect and maintain the syrup and sugar retain system
  • Collect and test rinse water for pH, taste, odor, and appearance as applicable
  • Perform appropriate duties as assigned by management
