Job Description

Blount Fine Foods is a distinguished family-owned and operated company with a heritage spanning five generations, dedicated to bringing premium fresh prepared foods to families across America. As a manufacturer, marketer, and developer, Blount Fine Foods combines tradition and innovation to produce a variety of restaurant-quality products, including single-serve grab-n-go fresh soups, mac & cheese, and entrees that are available in grocery stores nationwide as well as in hot bars and restaurants. Known for their commitment to quality, the company also specializes in products with specialty certifications such as organic, gluten-free, and low sodium, catering to diverse dietary needs and preferences. This approach exemplifies their dedication to creating the finest food experiences for consumers, underpinned by a robust focus on food safety and product excellence.

Join Blount Fine Foods’ engaging and dynamic team, where growth, success, and a rewarding career path await. The company offers a collaborative work environment that values attention to detail, quality assurance, and operational efficiency. This particular position is a 2nd shift role, offering an hourly pay rate between $20.00 and $20.50. It represents an excellent opportunity to be part of a proven team committed to maintaining the highest standards in food processing and production.

The role involves responsibility for the accurate mixing, blending, and cooking of raw ingredients to create high-quality finished food products. The successful candidate will primarily operate large volume kettles and mixers, ensuring adherence to recipes and food safety protocols. Working both independently and with an assistant, the processor will play a key role on the processing lines, especially during shift coverage or in the absence of other trained personnel. Core tasks include rigorous quality checks such as verifying solids content, ingredient accuracy, instrument calibration, magnet inspections, and chart recorder accuracy. Strict compliance with HACCP steps and blending recipes ensures that all products meet predetermined standards with a focus on allergen control and overall food safety.

This position requires the ability to manage and adjust multiple pieces of in-line processing equipment, emphasizing organized work habits and careful attention to detail. Preventative maintenance and equipment upkeep are essential components of the role, with close collaboration expected between the processing team and maintenance staff to optimize performance and resolve mechanical issues efficiently. The individual must also perform viscosity and sensory tests on batches to maintain consistent product quality.

Communication skills are vital for this position, as effective interdepartmental interaction supports efficient processing and quality control efforts. Collaboration with Quality Control and Quality Assurance teams is critical for continuous process improvement and adherence to food safety regulations. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in food manufacturing, a willingness to learn advanced processing techniques, and a commitment to operational excellence. Blount Fine Foods promises not only a job but a fulfilling career path with opportunities for professional growth and competitive benefits.
