Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior cooking or food preparation experience preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Basic understanding of kitchen equipment use
- Food handler’s certification preferred
- Ability to follow food safety protocols
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- Previous experience in a similar cooking or kitchen role preferred
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to follow recipes and standard operating procedures accurately
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Job Duties
- Consistently prepare, cook, portion all food according to Black Bear Diner recipes, procedures and standards
- Comply with all food safety requirements such as checking and maintaining temperature, dating and labeling products, rotating products so that oldest is used first
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, stoves, ovens and refrigeration equipment
- Handle, store and rotate all products properly
- Complete sidework for station and shift
- Close the prep and bake areas correctly
- Follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations
- Assist others in closing stations and the kitchen
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the manager-on-duty
