The role of Kitchen Supervisor at Valley View Casino & Hotel is a vital position within the food service department. The individual in this position will oversee all aspects of the kitchen’s operations during their shift, ensuring that all food preparation meets the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Reporting to the Executive Chef or Room Chef, the Kitchen Supervisor will manage and direct a team of culinary professionals, including line cooks, dishwashers, and utility staff, facilitating smooth operations and maintaining exceptional guest satisfaction. This role demands strong leadership, outstanding organizational skills, and an acute attention to operational details including compliance with health, safety, and food service regulations.

In this supervisory capacity, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring the kitchen meets budgetary goals and revenue benchmarks through cost-effective management and equitable scheduling. They will serve as a frontline ambassador for guest relations by resolving complaints and inquiries with courtesy and professionalism, fostering a positive dining experience. The Kitchen Supervisor will strictly enforce sanitation and safety procedures in compliance with state health regulations, and also ensure operational adherence to the casino’s Standards of Excellence.

Due to the 24/7 operation of the casino, the role requires flexibility to work any shift, including weekends and holidays. The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment is essential. Additionally, the position involves physical demands such as standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, and navigating varied environmental conditions including exposure to tobacco smoke, mechanical parts, and airborne particles.

Job Requirements

  • Two years of experience in culinary management
  • Two years of technical or equivalent training
  • Ability to type 35 words per minute or more
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Effective English communication skills
