The Food Runner role at Valley View Casino & Hotel is integral to the dining experience, serving as the final quality assurance checkpoint before food is presented to guests. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • One year of experience in casual to fine dining food quality control
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Effective time management skills
  • Proficient in English language reading, speaking, and comprehension
  • Ability to interpret and follow safety rules and company policies
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts
  • Good judgment and positive guest communication skills

  • Required to obtain and maintain a Gaming License
  • Must pass skill testing and drug screening

Job Qualifications

  • One year of experience in casual to fine dining food quality control including food delivery service standards
  • Ability to multi-task between team members and guests while paying close attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively manage time
  • Ability to speak and understand the English language
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions, and policies and procedure manuals written in English
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to define problems involving several concrete variables, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
  • Must use good judgment when providing information and maintain positive guest relations
  • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency
  • Must be able to successfully pass applicable auditions or skill testing and a drug screening test

Job Duties

  • Support and uphold the Valley View Casino & Hotel's Standards of Excellence, Mission and Vision Statements as outlined in the Team Member Guide to Success
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times, resolving guest complaints and ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Greet guests in a courteous and caring manner using personalized service
  • Communicate with chef and food servers to ensure maximum accuracy of dishes and guest satisfaction
  • Deliver food from kitchen to proper tables efficiently and promptly
  • Assist Food Servers and Bus Persons by clearing used dishes and refilling beverages
  • Interact with all team members professionally to ensure a smoothly run operation
  • Maintain a working knowledge of company facilities and special events to advise guests and team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
  • Conduct all responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner
  • Maintain a consistent, regular attendance record
  • Adhere to performance standards, company policies, and procedures related to the department
