Currently, Merete is seeking Restaurant Servers to join its team and provide outstanding food and beverage service to guests. As a Restaurant Server at Merete, you will be expected to have a comprehensive understanding of the menu items, including specialties and standard offerings, along with their ingredients and pricing. The job involves a variety of tasks such as order taking, food preparation knowledge, performing side work including stocking and cleaning, and maintaining an organized and sanitary work environment. Physical demands include lifting and carrying items weighing between 5 to 75 pounds regularly, standing and walking for extended periods on various surfaces, and engaging in repetitive motions like bending and stooping. Working conditions may include exposure to kitchen fumes, chemicals, heat, cold, noise, and the use of various kitchen equipment like ovens, slicers, fryers, and toasters.

Job Duties

  • Have working knowledge of specials and standard menu items, their ingredients, and their prices
  • Receive and serve meal orders
  • Display knowledge of food preparation
  • Market, sell, and serve all menu items
  • Complete side work, including stocking, filling salt and pepper shakers, folding napkins, wiping down counters and tables
  • Stock areas with clean linen, glassware, and silverware
  • Respond to the needs and requests of guests
  • Follow sanitation and sanitary food handling procedures at all times
  • Complete other assigned duties including cross-training
  • Keep work areas clean and organized
  • Report all unsafe conditions immediately
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Treat others with respect and promote teamwork at all times
