Coordination with the Bistro & Culinary Manager is key to ensuring that the culinary operations run smoothly and meet customer satisfaction standards.
In this role, the culinary professional will have opportunities not only to engage in hands-on food preparation but also to assist management in training new employees, thereby contributing to the overall skill development of the team. Responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels to maintain adequate stock of frozen foods, ensuring food freshness through diligent date labeling and refrigeration monitoring, and receiving new ingredients and supplies accurately. The position also involves interacting with customers at the point-of-sale system when needed, highlighting the customer service aspect of the role.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year experience on a food line
- Valid Louisiana Responsible Vendor permit or ability to obtain
- ServSafe certification preferred
- Ability to stand and walk for 6-8 hours during shifts
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- Reliable transportation

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Cut, prepare and package a variety of foods to be frozen
- Maintain expected stock levels of frozen foods in stores and backstock
- Date products and continually monitor refrigerator and freezers for product freshness
- Receive and process in ingredients and supplies
- Communicate effectively about needed ingredients to sustain expected food production
- Execute and give feedback on new recipes and menu options
- Ensure timely and proficient food preparation to meet customer demand
- Work the POS system to help customers with culinary purchases in the café as needed
- Assist in events by setting up buffets with food presentation standards and practices in mind, ensuring safe food handling performance
- Maintain and ensure the maintenance of a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
- Adhere to all applicable laws when serving alcohol
- Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures
- Maintain positive and professional attitude
- Arrive to work appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
