The role of Bistro Lead / Guest Service Expert is a pivotal non-management position that plays an integral part in the daily operations of the hotel's food and beverage services. This full-time role is ideal for a seasoned hospitality professional who is adept at leading a small team, thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and has a passion for creating outstanding guest experiences. The Bistro Lead will be responsible for overseeing breakfast service in the mornings and bar service in the evenings, ensuring that all food and beverage offerings meet Marriott brand standards and guest satisfaction.

A successful candidate will have prior experience working with Marriott hotels, along with hands-on proficiency using the Micros Symphony POS system. The Bistro Lead must be capable of working flexible schedules, including AM and PM shifts, weekends, and holidays. Their responsibilities include leading and motivating the Bistro team, delivering warm and professional service to guests, accurately processing food and beverage orders, preparing beverages in line with recipes and state liquor laws, and maintaining compliance with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission regulations.

Beyond supervising daily operations, the Bistro Lead also engages in training and mentoring team members to foster professional development and uphold quality service standards. This position demands excellent organizational skills, strong leadership, and the ability to multitask effectively while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. The Bistro Lead will collaborate closely with the Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Management teams to ensure a seamless guest experience.

This role also involves managing cash and credit transactions, overseeing inventory and shift-to-shift accountability, ensuring cleanliness and food safety standards, and promptly addressing and escalating guest concerns when necessary. Job Duties

  • Lead and motivate a small Bistro team to deliver exceptional guest service
  • Support daily Bistro operations during AM breakfast and PM bar service
  • Train, coach, and mentor team members to maintain Marriott brand standards
  • Ensure all guests receive friendly, professional, and efficient service
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and courteously
  • Operate Micros Symphony POS system efficiently
  • Prepare and serve beverages in accordance with recipes and state liquor regulations
  • Verify legal drinking age and maintain compliance with TABC requirements
  • Handle cash, credit card transactions, and daily sales accountability
  • Prepare bar mixes, garnishes, and stock all beverage and food service areas
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards at all times
  • Assist with inventory management and shift-to-shift accountability
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate
  • Work collaboratively with Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Management teams
  • Complete all required reports, documentation, and operational checklists
