We are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Bistro Cook to join our team at Belmont Village Senior Living. This position is based within the on-site Bistro of our senior living community, serving residents freshly prepared meals in a warm and welcoming setting. The Bistro Cook role is a multifaceted culinary position requiring skills that span food preparation, cooking, service, and cleanup. This role is designed for someone who thrives in a guest-facing position, where empathy, courtesy, and reliability are paramount. A key aspect of the job is delivering an exceptional dining experience that not only meets but exceeds resident expectations, contributing to their overall comfort and happiness. The ideal candidate should handle fast-paced kitchen environments well, collaborate positively with team members, and embrace a mindset focused on growth and learning.

Working Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 7pm, the Bistro Cook at Belmont Village plays a crucial role in upholding the bistro’s standards of high-quality food and hospitality. Responsibilities include preparing and cooking fresh meals promptly, maintaining supplies and service readiness, and creating attractive food displays, all while ensuring compliance with health and sanitation regulations. The candidate will be expected to interact warmly and professionally with residents and guests, catering to special dietary requests and promoting a friendly atmosphere. This role demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and a passion for culinary arts aligned with senior living hospitality. Beyond technical skills, the Bistro Cook must exhibit a professional, pleasant demeanor and a commitment to dependable attendance, crucial to supporting the community’s daily operations.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months Line Cook experience in banquet, catering, café, or bistro
  • Ability to work assigned shifts including early morning, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Consistent and reliable attendance
  • Successful completion of State and Federal criminal background check, drug screen, job related physical and TB test

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Professional, pleasant and team oriented attitude
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
  • Minimum of 6 months Line Cook experience in banquet, catering, café, or bistro
  • Proven success with basic Culinary skills such as knife handling, accurate measurements and cooking methods
  • Ability to work assigned shifts including early morning, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Consistent and reliable attendance
  • Completion of State and Federal criminal background check, drug screen, job related physical and TB test

Job Duties

  • Prepare, cook and serve high-quality, fresh food promptly and courteously
  • Maintain the Bistro’s readiness including flatware, condiments, and beverages
  • Create decorative food displays
  • Ensure food quality, freshness and adequate supply throughout the day
  • Promote resident and guest participation and accommodate special requests
  • Monitor and manage Bistro supplies and stock levels
  • Assist with kitchen and restaurant tasks including setup, service and cleanup as needed
  • Adhere to health department regulations and company sanitation standards
  • Make hospitality, customer service, and resident satisfaction your top priorities in every interaction
