The Bistro Attendant position within PAH Management offers a vital role in delivering an exceptional dining experience to hotel guests. This role involves providing friendly and efficient customer service while preparing and serving a variety of food and beverage items in the hotel’s bistro or food outlet. The Bistro Attendant is responsible for greeting guests warmly, taking accurate orders, and ensuring that beverages and food items are prepared and presented according to standardized recipes and brand standards. They also operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently to process guest transactions accurately.

This role is essential in supporting the daily food and beverage operations and maintaining a clean and welcoming dining environment, which significantly enhances the guest satisfaction and overall hotel experience. The Bistro Attendant also assists with food preparation for special events such as banquets and meetings, playing a crucial role in supporting the hotel’s diverse service offerings. Moreover, the position requires adherence to strict safety, sanitation, and compliance regulations to ensure not only the quality of food served but also the health and safety of guests and staff alike.

Candidates can expect a dynamic work environment located in Baton Rouge, LA, with a flexible schedule that includes early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special event shifts as needed. This job demands physical stamina as the Bistro Attendant must stand and walk for extended periods, frequently lift and carry food products and supplies, and operate kitchen and beverage equipment safely.

Job Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of food preparation customer service and cash handling practices
  • Ability to operate or learn a point-of-sale (POS) system
  • Must possess or obtain any required Food Handler or alcohol service certifications in accordance with state or local regulations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests team members and supervisors

Job Qualifications

  • Previous hotel or hospitality food and beverage experience preferred
  • Experience with hospitality POS systems such as MICROS or similar platforms preferred

Job Duties

  • Welcome guests in a friendly professional manner and provide exceptional customer service throughout their dining experience
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter orders into the point-of-sale (POS) system
  • Answer questions about menu offerings ingredients and daily specials while making recommendations to enhance the guest experience
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly while ensuring presentation and quality standards are met
  • Address guest concerns promptly and professionally escalating issues when appropriate
  • Prepare and serve menu items including sandwiches salads pizza grilled items breakfast offerings coffee and other beverages according to standardized recipes and brand standards
  • Assist with food preparation for banquets meetings and special events as assigned
  • Monitor food quality freshness and presentation throughout service
  • Complete opening and closing duties including setting up and breaking down workstations stocking supplies and preparing equipment for service
  • Process guest payments accurately while following cash handling and property audit procedures
  • Bus clean sanitize and reset dining tables to maintain a clean and welcoming dining environment
  • Restock food beverages paper products condiments and other supplies throughout each shift
  • Maintain a clean organized and sanitary work area by following Clean As You Go practices
  • Follow all food safety sanitation and health department regulations
  • Safely operate food preparation equipment beverage machines and kitchen appliances
