Job Description

Legacy Pointe at UCF is a distinguished Life Plan Community located in partnership with the University of Central Florida. Our mission is to brighten lives through lifelong enrichment, and we believe that older adults deserve to live every day with dignity, connection, opportunity, and joy. As a comprehensive senior living community, we offer a full continuum of care from independent living to skilled nursing, including assisted living and memory care. Our culture is one defined by hospitality, service, and accountability, and our association with UCF enhances the variety and quality of life through lifelong learning, intergenerational engagement, and innovative programming. Legacy Pointe is known as a modern and welcoming community where residents feel valued, cared for, and deeply connected. We support our residents through wellness programs, cognitive activities, compassionate care, and meaningful social moments, always ensuring a focus on comfort, dignity, and quality of life.

The role of Bistro Attendant at Legacy Pointe at UCF is a highly valued and impactful position within our Dietary Services Department. Reporting to Dietary Leadership, this full-time role involves working a set schedule that includes four days from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and one day from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM each week, with rotating weekend shifts and holidays off. The Bistro Attendant is a key contributor to the community’s bistro or café environment where food and beverage service is executed with exceptional hospitality. The primary responsibility is to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for residents, guests, and team members by preparing and serving beverages such as coffee, espresso, teas, smoothies, and light food items, including pastries and desserts. This position demands strong customer service skills and the ability to maintain professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail even in fast-paced settings.

Beyond direct bistro service, Bistro Attendants also assist with food preparation, stocking supplies, managing point-of-sale transactions, creating attractive food displays, and supporting special community events that require food or beverage service. Food safety is paramount, and adherence to inventory rotation, temperature monitoring, and sanitation standards is essential. Flexibility to cross-train and provide coverage in other dining venues including main dining rooms and assisted or skilled nursing dining areas is also required. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by ensuring high hospitality standards and enhancing the dining experience for older adults in a respectful, engaging environment. Working at Legacy Pointe is an enriching career choice for those passionate about combining food service skills with compassionate customer care in a senior living community context.
