Job Description

Crestline Hotels & Resorts is a distinguished hospitality management company known for operating and managing a diverse portfolio of hotels and resorts across various regions. With a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining high standards in service, Crestline Hotels & Resorts focuses on fostering welcoming environments that cater to both business and leisure travelers. Among its esteemed properties is the Courtyard/TownePlace Suites Suffolk Chesapeake, a hotel that provides a blend of comfort, convenience, and hospitality designed to enhance each guest's stay. The hotel prides itself on its quality accommodations, excellent amenities, and dedicated staff that contribute to creating memorable experiences for all visitors.

The Courtyard/TownePlace Suites Suffolk Chesapeake is currently hiring for the position of Bistro Attendant within its food and beverage team. This role is ideal for those who are naturally social, enjoy interacting with guests, and have an energetic and outgoing personality. As a Bistro Attendant, you will be at the forefront of guest interaction within the dining areas, ensuring that customers receive timely and courteous service. This position involves taking food and beverage orders, serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and delivering food orders to guest tables following the hotel's service standards. Additionally, the attendant will handle payment collection and assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the restaurant and its equipment.

The Bistro Attendant plays a crucial role in the overall guest experience, acting as a liaison between the kitchen and the customers. Responsibilities include checking in with patrons to ensure satisfaction with their meals and promptly addressing any issues that arise, managing order taking accurately either through memorization or electronic systems, and preparing bills inclusive of meal costs and taxes. Attendants also verify patrons’ identification for alcohol service compliance and present menu options, provide recommendations, and inform guests of daily specials. Contrary to basic food service roles, this position involves preparing specialty dishes and drinks, rolling silverware, and setting up dining areas, which enhances the sophistication and efficiency of the hotel's food and beverage operations.

This role presents clear career advancement opportunities within the hospitality industry. Potential career paths after gaining experience as a Bistro Attendant include Food & Beverage Supervisor, Food & Beverage Manager, Director of Food and Beverage, Director of Operations, General Manager, and even Vice President of Food & Beverage. The hotel encourages growth and internal promotion, making this position not only a job but a stepping stone to a rewarding career in hotel management.

Applicants for the Bistro Attendant role should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, have strong proficiency in English, and demonstrate prior customer relations experience. Preferred candidates may have certifications related to liquor, wine, and food service, along with TIPS or CARE certification (or an equivalent), which must be obtained by the start of employment. Familiarity with property management systems, computer usage, and point-of-sale systems is also essential. The job requires a proactive attitude toward guest satisfaction, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment.

Crestline Hotels & Resorts upholds an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employment policy, ensuring that all qualified applicants receive fair consideration regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability status. Joining the Courtyard/TownePlace Suites Suffolk Chesapeake means becoming part of a respected hospitality brand dedicated to professional growth, outstanding service, and a welcoming workplace culture.
