Job Description
GEICO, established in 1936, is one of the largest auto insurers in the United States and a proud member of the Berkshire Hathaway family of companies. Recognized for its iconic brand and relentless commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, GEICO offers quality insurance coverage to millions of customers nationwide. The company continuously strives to protect its policyholders through life’s twists and turns, combining integrity with groundbreaking solutions to exceed customer expectations. At GEICO, employees are valued and supported, fostering an inclusive culture rooted in collaboration, shared success, and mutual respect. The firm’s dedication to employee growth is evident through personalized development programs, mentorship opportunities, and assistance with certification and licensing. GEICO’s pledge emphasizes four key promises: Great Company, Great Careers, Great Culture, and Great Rewards, ensuring a workplace environment where individuals feel proud and motivated to contribute.
The role of Bilingual (Spanish/English) Auto Inside Sales Representative at GEICO offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about customer service and sales within a reputable insurance company. This position is primarily based at GEICO’s office located at 3535 W Pipkin Rd, Lakeland, FL 33811 and is designed for candidates who excel in engaging customers through inbound communications. As a representative, you will provide insurance quotes, advise customers on suitable coverage options, and effectively convert these quotes into new policies — all without the need for cold calling. This position uniquely combines sales-driven activities with the rewarding experience of protecting customers, allowing representatives to make a meaningful impact by helping individuals select the best insurance coverage for their needs.
Compensation for this role includes a base salary of $20.00 per hour (equivalent to $40,300 annually) with a 10% bilingual differential. Performance incentives give the potential to earn an additional $60,000 annually, supplemented by further differentials for evening and weekend shifts (+10% and +20%, respectively). Licensed candidates in Personal Lines or Property & Casualty insurance receive a $1,500 sign-on bonus. The company emphasizes professional growth with no-cost licensing and continuing education, enhanced by hundreds of eLearning courses available to improve skills continually.
Benefits offered start from Day 1, encompassing medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible spending accounts, paid time off that accrues immediately, thirteen paid holidays yearly, and a 401(k) plan with up to a 6% company match, fully vested immediately. The GEICO Strive tuition assistance program offers up to $5,250 annually to support further education. Workplace flexibility includes full in-office training followed by an opportunity to work 80% on-site and 20% off-site, complemented by additional off-site weeks as part of GEICO Flex. This hybrid model supports work-life balance alongside professional responsibilities.
Ideal candidates are those who bring a minimum of one month of customer-facing sales experience, with over three years preferred, particularly in high-volume call center environments where KPIs and measurable goals are standard. A high school diploma or GED is required, while a college degree and active Personal Lines or Property & Casualty license are preferred. Core skills such as excellent communication, the ability to quickly build rapport, adaptability, attention to detail, prioritization, and multitasking are essential. Candidates must be available to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Joining GEICO means becoming part of a company devoted to an equal employment opportunity policy that values diversity and inclusivity, ensuring fair hiring practices without discrimination. The company accommodates qualified individuals with disabilities and fosters a productive work environment free from intimidation or harassment. GEICO’s supportive culture enables associates to work to the best of their abilities, ensuring mutual respect and cooperation across all teams and roles.
