Sysco is a leading global foodservice distribution company specializing in delivering high-quality food and related products to restaurants, healthcare and educational facilities, lodging establishments, and other customers who prepare meals away from home. As the industry leader, Sysco offers a comprehensive range of products and services that support the culinary and operational needs of its clients. The company's commitment to excellence, community support, and employee development has established it as a preferred partner in the foodservice distribution industry. With a robust infrastructure, national reach, and innovative approach to selling and product management, Sysco continually advances its mission to help its customers succeed.
The Sales Professional position at Sysco is a dynamic and rewarding outside sales role designed for experienced Sales Professionals, Restaurant Managers, Culinary Managers, or Chefs looking to advance their careers. This position involves promoting Sysco's diverse product offerings and services while developing and nurturing strong, long-lasting relationships with both new and existing accounts. The role requires a strategic approach to account management, focused on helping customers succeed and achieving the company’s sales and profit goals. Candidates will benefit from an engaging work environment supported by competitive base salaries, performance bonuses, promotional incentives, and comprehensive benefits.
Sysco’s sales team members enjoy specialized training, career pathing opportunities for entry-level and seasoned professionals alike, a car allowance or mileage reimbursement where applicable, and a company-provided cell phone. The job offers exposure to ethnic market segments, individual and team-based selling, and monthly and annual recognition programs that reward sales excellence. This role demands commitment, as sales representatives may need to work non-traditional hours such as evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet customer needs effectively. The professional development opportunities and the company’s purpose-driven culture create an inspiring workplace that values both personal and professional growth.
Candidates must be bilingual and possess strong communication skills to interact with diverse customer bases effectively. The Sales Professional will represent Sysco in the field, ensuring customers receive a comprehensive mix of products and services tailored to their unique business needs. They will be vital in providing product education, training customer personnel, and acting as trusted advisors who keep customers informed about product innovations, market conditions, and competitive pricing. This role includes administrative responsibilities such as preparing sales budgets, maintaining sales records, and managing accounts receivable in collaboration with the credit department.
Sysco fosters a team-oriented culture with opportunities to participate in company events, promotions, and training sessions designed to enhance sales performance and customer service delivery. The Sales Professional must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean record, maintain automobile insurance meeting company requirements, and be willing to relocate or reside within the geographical territory assigned. The company promotes integrity, adaptability, and a customer-centric approach, making the Sales Professional role critical to Sysco's ongoing success in the competitive foodservice distribution market.
