The role of Assistant Manager at Ojos Locos is a pivotal position responsible for managing the daily operations of the restaurant. This position requires a hands-on leader who can recruit, develop, mentor, and coach team members, including front-of-house staff (referred to as Chicas) and back-of-house teams. The Assistant Manager will play an essential role in overseeing the financial aspects of the business, including inventory management, food ordering, and achieving labor cost targets. A key part of this job is optimizing profits while ensuring that guests enjoy top-notch dining experiences.

In this role, the Assistant Manager adheres to company standards for service and quality to drive sales and control costs, covering areas such as food, beverage, supplies, utilities, and labor. Maintaining a clean and safe restaurant environment in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations is paramount. The Assistant Manager must consistently ensure food quality and preparation meet the highest standards, while also managing the restaurant's image through cleanliness, uniform policies, and appearance standards. Shift management, scheduling, and daily decision-making are regular responsibilities aimed at upholding operational excellence.

Guest satisfaction is a core priority. The Assistant Manager responds to guest complaints proactively and professionally, seeking to resolve issues and convert dissatisfied customers into loyal patrons. Job Requirements

  • liquor license certification is mandatory
  • food manager certificate required
  • availability to work during holidays nights and weekends with increased hours during peak times

Job Qualifications

  • 3-4 years of previous restaurant manager experience
  • 2-4 years high volume bar restaurant experience
  • ability to effectively communicate in English and Spanish

Job Duties

  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs including food beverage supply utility and labor
  • responsible for ensuring that all financial invoices reporting and personnel payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • enforce sanitary practices for food handling general cleanliness and maintenance of federal state and local laws
  • responsible for ensuring consistent high quality of food preparation
  • maintain a professional restaurant image including restaurant cleanliness proper uniforms and appearance standards
  • ensure proper security procedures are in place to protect employees guests and company
  • manage shifts which include daily decision making scheduling planning while upholding standards product quality
  • ensure positive guest service in all areas respond to complaints taking all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return customers
  • investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality
