Job Description
St. Anthony Marie de Claret Catholic Church is a vibrant parish dedicated to fostering spiritual growth, community engagement, and the mission of the Catholic Church within its local community. The parish serves as a spiritual home for many families and individuals, offering various ministries, liturgical services, and outreach programs that reflect its commitment to faith, worship, and service. As a faith-based organization, St. Anthony Marie de Claret operates with a pastoral leadership structure headed by the Pastor, who guides the parish in unity and the mission of Christ. The Parish Office functions as the administrative heart of the church, where parish staff work collaboratively to support these spiritual and operational objectives. The church emphasizes a ministry-driven approach to employment, reinforcing that each role contributes to extending the Church's mission and values in everyday work and service.
The role of Bilingual Receptionist at St. Anthony Marie de Claret Catholic Church is a crucial position that embodies both administrative excellence and ministerial character. This role requires welcoming and assisting parishioners and visitors with hospitality and professionalism, setting the tone for a positive experience with the church right from the first point of contact. The receptionist serves as the initial welcoming face of the parish, addressing inquiries, managing communications via phone and in-person visits, and maintaining a supportive and helpful environment in the Parish Office. This position demands the ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced setting, juggling multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and a positive demeanor. The incumbent will handle various responsibilities including managing databases related to parish families and tithing envelopes, processing Mass intentions, sales transactions, and supporting specialized parish programs such as Ethics and Integrity in Ministry.
Given the faith-oriented nature of St. Anthony Marie de Claret, the Bilingual Receptionist position uniquely combines professional office responsibilities with a ministerial dimension. The employee is expected to uphold and reflect Gospel values and the Church's teachings, fostering a welcoming and service-oriented atmosphere. Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential, enabling effective communication with a diverse parish community. The role also requires strict confidentiality, ethical behavior, and adherence to diocesan policies. Candidates must be practicing Roman Catholics in good standing who are committed to supporting the parish's mission and values. This position is supervised by the Director of Operations and aligns closely with the Pastor's ministry, emphasizing teamwork and personal integrity. Located in Texas, the position mandates a valid Texas driver’s license and compliance with diocesan ethics standards.
This full-time role is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic, community-focused environments and who desire to serve in a role that blends administrative skills with spiritual service. The successful candidate will be intrinsically motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive, able to work independently or as part of a team, and capable of adapting to shifting priorities while maintaining a professional and cheerful outlook. By joining St. Anthony Marie de Claret Catholic Church, the receptionist becomes part of a faith community where their work supports not just parish operations but the broader mission of the Church, providing pastoral care through practical and compassionate service.
