The role of Bilingual Patient Care Coordinator/Medical Assistant combines responsibilities both at the front office and back office settings, requiring a professional proficient in Spanish to assist with patient care and office support. Under the guidance of the Office Coordinator, this hybrid role encompasses a wide range of duties such as patient intake, clinical assistance, clerical tasks, patient education, and efficient scheduling. The successful candidate will perform vital sign measurements, administer injections, manage anemia and iron levels, assist with blood pressure monitoring, and support physician notifications regarding patient status changes or abnormal results. Additionally, the role involves specimen collection and processing, maintaining patient medical records including electronic medical records (EMR), handling dictation logs, and processing hospital disposition and recall reports.

This position demands a multi-skilled medical assistant who can navigate both administrative and clinical environments effectively while maintaining a compassionate and professional demeanor. The coordinator ensures optimal scheduling utilization, manages office and medical supplies inventory, and supports the broader medical team through clerical duties such as mail distribution, filing, scanning, and answering phone calls. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Perform patient care activities such as back-office check-in check-out prescription refills anemia and iron management administer injections schedule procedures and provide patient education
  • Schedule and process 24-hour blood pressure monitoring
  • Interview patients measure vital signs including pulse rate temperature blood pressure weight height update medication list record information in patients charts and EMR including urine tests per Clinitek
  • Notify physician of changes in patient clinical status and abnormal test results
  • Collect urine samples and process specimens for courier transport
  • Monitor and optimize allotted time slots in schedules using available programs and reports
  • Complete clerical tasks including distributing mail and reports filing scanning scheduling data input answering phones and general support to office personnel
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures prioritize and complete daily activities
  • Maintain office equipment medical supplies and inventory management
  • Process hospital disposition reports
  • Process recall reports mail recall and no-show letters follow up with patients and primary care physicians as needed
  • Monitor dictation process maintain accurate dictation logs ensure physician review and signature mail reports scan dictation into patient files
  • Process medical record requests adhering to HIPAA regulations
  • Assist in annual purging of patient charts
  • May be required to report to alternate worksites as directed
