As a company, Sherwin-Williams emphasizes stability, growth, and opportunity, empowering their employees to develop their skills, grow their careers, and contribute meaningfully to the business and their communities. The company offers an inclusive and supportive workplace culture where employee wellbeing and professional advancement are prioritized through comprehensive benefits and continuous learning opportunities.

The Customer Service Specialist role at Sherwin-Williams is a vital position that involves close interaction with both wholesale and retail customers. The main responsibility is to identify customer needs, answer detailed questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend the most suitable solutions. This role demands excellent interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of product features, and the ability to maintain high standards of quality and visual presentation within the store environment. Beyond just sales, Customer Service Specialists are the face of the company in the store, tasked with ensuring maximum client satisfaction by promptly resolving any customer concerns and fostering trust-based relationships.

This full-time position is based primarily at the Sherwin-Williams store #1813, located at 223 N. York Street in Elmhurst, Illinois, with the candidate expected to spend around 20% of their time supporting nearby locations including Wood Dale Store 3417, Northlake Store 3792, and Villa Park Store 3034. Starting pay for this role begins at $19.75 per hour. Sherwin-Williams values its employees as the cornerstone of their success and supports them with competitive pay, extensive health benefits such as medical, dental, and vision coverage, Flexible Spending Accounts, disability plans, and retirement savings options. Additional perks include generous paid time off encompassing personal leave, paid parental leave, medical leave, vacation, and holiday benefits. The company takes employee safety seriously and conducts background checks due to the nature of the role, which involves access to cash, merchandise, and interaction with customers including minors.

Working as a Customer Service Specialist at Sherwin-Williams is an opportunity to build a rewarding career in a leading retail environment focused on quality and customer satisfaction. The job includes responsibilities like processing sales transactions accurately, maintaining inventory and store presentation, assisting customers both in person and over the phone, and supporting the store’s sales goals on a consistent basis. The role also requires physical tasks including lifting materials and working flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Sherwin-Williams encourages applicants who are bilingual in English and Spanish and possess a valid driver’s license. Prior experience in retail, delivery, or customer service, especially related to paint and paint-related products, is preferred but not mandatory, as training is provided.

By joining Sherwin-Williams, employees become part of a company committed to its mission of making the world brighter and stronger while providing the resources for employees to live healthier, save smarter, and advance their careers.
