Job Description
ZooTampa at Lowry Park is one of the most beloved zoological parks in the southeastern United States, attracting over 1.2 million visitors every year. Situated on 56 acres of lush, tropical garden settings, the zoo offers a vast array of naturalistic wildlife habitats designed to immerse guests in authentic animal experiences. Accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), ZooTampa strives to provide exceptional educational programs, engaging recreational activities, up-close animal encounters, and memorable seasonal events. Renowned as one of the nation's most family-friendly zoos, it has earned numerous awards for its commitment to wildlife education, conservation, and entertainment.
The mission of ZooTampa is to rescue, rehabilitate, and care for animals while creating exceptional, personalized experiences that connect people with wildlife and each other in fun and immersive ways. The organization envisions inspiring everyone touched by its efforts to take action toward protecting and preserving wildlife, fostering a global community of conservation-minded individuals. Being part of ZooTampa means contributing to this awe-inspiring mission and actively participating in an environment that promotes natural connections and lifelong learning.
The role of Guest Services Representative at ZooTampa plays a vital part in delivering outstanding customer service and supporting the operational goals of the zoo. This full-time position requires bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, enabling seamless communication with a diverse guest population. Key responsibilities include greeting and assisting visitors, selling admission tickets, and promoting annual memberships and premium experiences. The representative serves as the first point of contact at the front gate, offering helpful information, managing cash handling transactions, and performing data entry in the Galaxy database system with accuracy and efficiency.
Additionally, the Guest Services Representative is entrusted with ensuring compliance with zoo policies, providing excellent guest screening at entry points, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the admissions area. Effective communication and professionalism are essential, as the role involves dealing courteously with guests, employees, and various internal departments. This position demands the ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and handle physical activities such as standing, walking, and lifting up to 30 lbs. The zoo values individuals who are flexible, attentive to detail, and committed to upholding safety standards tailored to the needs of both guests and wildlife.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at a unique, award-winning zoological setting that combines education, recreation, and conservation. Employees benefit from a supportive and inclusive workplace culture with access to perks such as pet insurance, retirement plans, discounted gym memberships, and complimentary admission to several Florida attractions. Joining ZooTampa as a Guest Services Representative means becoming part of a team dedicated to fostering memorable visitor experiences and advancing wildlife protection initiatives, making a tangible difference in both animal welfare and community engagement.
