Founded with a passion for excellence, Sherwin-Williams operates as a trusted provider of paints, coatings, and related solutions for a wide range of applications in both commercial and residential settings. Headquartered in the United States, Sherwin-Williams boasts a network of stores and facilities that cater to wholesale and retail customers alike, delivering unparalleled service and expertise. The company emphasizes inclusive growth, employee development, and community connection, investing deeply in the well-being and career growth of its workforce while maintaining robust standards for customer satisfaction and product excellence.
The role of a Customer Service Specialist at Sherwin-Williams is a vital position focused on providing exceptional support and assistance to both wholesale and retail customers. Located at Store #3314 in Bethesda, MD, this role is designed for individuals who are passionate about customer service and sales within the paint and coatings industry. Customer Service Specialists are responsible for understanding the needs and preferences of their clients, answering detailed questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommending the most suitable solutions to meet customer requirements. This position not only involves direct customer contact in-person and over the phone, but also requires maintaining a thorough knowledge of product features, tinting and mixing products to exact customer specifications, and ensuring the store environment is welcoming and well-kept.
In addition to managing customer interactions, specialists at Sherwin-Williams work towards consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals on monthly, quarterly, and yearly bases. They engage in activities such as processing sales transactions, maintaining precise work order files, stocking shelves, setting up displays, and assisting with deliveries when needed. The role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to build productive trust relationships with customers to foster long-term loyalty.
Sherwin-Williams provides a comprehensive benefits package for Customer Service Specialists, including health benefits like medical, dental, and vision coverage, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), disability coverage, retirement planning, and saving benefits, all designed to promote not only financial security but also wellness and work-life balance. The company offers a generous time-off package covering personal leave, paid parental leave, medical leave, vacation days, and holidays to support their employees' personal and family needs.
The position requires the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy products up to 70 lbs occasionally, and regularly up to 50 lbs, highlighting the demanding nature of the role in a retail environment. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, authorized to work in the country without sponsorship requirements, and possess proficiency in both English and Spanish to engage effectively with a diverse customer base. A valid driver's license is also required to facilitate potential delivery assistance.
Sherwin-Williams fosters an inclusive and supportive workplace, practicing equal employment opportunity and actively seeking to create a diverse workforce. The recruitment process for a Customer Service Specialist includes an online application, a digital video interview, and potentially an in-store interview, ensuring that candidates have the opportunity to showcase their skills and fit within the company culture. By joining Sherwin-Williams, employees step into a role where they contribute directly to enhancing customers' experiences and helping the company maintain its strong market presence.
