Job Description

Sherwin-Williams is a leading global manufacturer, marketer, and distributor of paints, coatings, and related products. Established over 150 years ago, the company has built a stellar reputation for quality, innovation, and excellent customer service. Sherwin-Williams operates a network of stores, specialty wholesale branches, and delivery terminals serving a wide range of customers from retail consumers to industrial clients. Their products are used in many industries including residential, commercial, architectural, and industrial coatings, making Sherwin-Williams a trusted brand worldwide.

Sherwin-Williams believes in inspiring and improving the world by coloring and protecting what matters. Their purpose extends beyond producing paint and coatings — they aim to brighten and strengthen the places and spaces in our world through innovative solutions. With stability, growth, and momentum, Sherwin-Williams offers employees opportunities for career advancement, skill development, and a supportive, inclusive culture. Their commitment to employee well-being, community connection, and professional growth makes them a compelling employer in the retail and manufacturing sectors.

The Color Mixer Specialist role at Sherwin-Williams is a part-time position located at Store #2313 in Clemmons, North Carolina, with up to 28 hours per week at a starting pay rate of $15.30 per hour. This position is critical for maintaining the high standards of product quality and customer satisfaction that Sherwin-Williams is known for. Color Mixer Specialists are responsible for accurately tinting and mixing paint products according to customer specifications, assisting customers by determining their needs, and recommending appropriate Sherwin-Williams products. The role requires a balance of technical skills for mixing and tinting with excellent interpersonal skills for customer service.

In addition to customer interaction, Color Mixer Specialists manage inventory, stock shelves, maintain organized work order files, prepare paint drawdowns for customers, and ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of equipment and store areas. They also support delivery operations by loading, unloading, and assisting in making deliveries when needed. Meeting sales goals while providing outstanding customer service is a key performance indicator for this role.

Due to the nature of the position, which involves access to cash handling, electronic equipment, and customer personal information including minors, Sherwin-Williams conducts criminal history reviews to ensure the safety and security of its customers, employees, and business operations. Sherwin-Williams fosters an inclusive, equitable workplace and offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports employees’ health, career growth, and work-life balance. The company provides transparent hiring practices with an online application, digital video interview, and in-store interview steps making the hiring process straightforward and candidate-friendly.

This role is well suited for individuals who have a passion for paint and coatings products, enjoy working directly with customers, and can handle both physical tasks and detail-oriented responsibilities. Those with prior retail, customer service, or paint-related experience, as well as multilingual abilities, will find this position a great opportunity for professional development within a globally recognized company.
