The Leasing Consultant will be a key player in providing prospective and current residents with an outstanding leasing experience, ensuring that all interactions are handled professionally and efficiently. The role involves guiding residents through the leasing process, from initial tours to move-in procedures and ongoing lease renewals, making it essential to balance attention to detail with superior communication skills in both English and Spanish. Working closely under the supervision of the property manager, the Leasing Consultant plays a fundamental role in securing leases, addressing resident needs, and assisting with marketing and outreach efforts to attract new residents. This position offers a competitive pay rate of $20 to $23 per hour and offers opportunities for career growth within the property management field.
Responsibilities include greeting and touring prospective residents, determining their housing needs, managing leasing paperwork such as applications and lease agreements, and performing employment and credit checks. The Leasing Consultant will handle rent and security deposit collections, communicate lease and community policies, and maintain timely follow-up with prospects. Additional duties include verifying apartments are move-in ready, creatively marketing to find new residents, managing lease renewals and resident retention, and promptly addressing calls, emails, and inquiries. Ideal candidates have previous experience in leasing, customer service, sales, real estate, hospitality, or retail sectors and demonstrate a strong ability to engage with diverse individuals. Given the bilingual nature of the role, fluency in both English and Spanish is mandatory. Candidates should also be comfortable working on weekends as needed and possess basic computer skills with familiarity in Microsoft Office and leasing software such as Yardi, Blue Moon, Entrata, Onesite, or MRI as an advantage. Job Duties
- Greet prospective residents and give tours while determining housing needs, preferences, and close leads
- Assist new residents with leasing paperwork, including applications, lease agreements, and employment/credit checks
- Collect security deposits, rent, and any other charges associated with resident move-ins
- Communicate all lease and community policies to new and current residents
- Follow up with all leads and prospects that did not lease
- Ensure apartments are move-in ready by inspecting, and adding last-minute touches when appropriate
- Seek out new residents with creative marketing techniques
- Manage the lease renewal process and retention efforts
- Promptly responding to calls, emails, and inquiries
