Operating worldwide, Sodexo partners with numerous organizations to deliver exceptional food service, catering, and facility solutions tailored to diverse needs and environments. The company's commitment is not only to operational excellence but also to promoting social, economic, and environmental progress within the communities it serves. Sodexo values inclusivity, fairness, and respect, fostering a workplace culture where every individual is empowered to thrive and contribute meaningfully.
The Indiana Convention Center is seeking a full-time Beverage Supervisor to join the Sodexo team, offering an hourly pay range of $24.00 to $25.00. This position is ideal for candidates passionate about delivering outstanding beverage service in a fast-paced event venue environment. The Beverage Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of beverage services during events and daily functions, ensuring that all aspects comply with alcohol service laws and adhere to the high standards expected by guests and clients.
In this role, the Beverage Supervisor will have direct supervisory responsibilities over bartenders, beverage attendants, and support staff. This includes managing staffing assignments, overseeing service flow, and maintaining inventory controls to prevent loss and ensure adequate supply during events. The supervisor collaborates closely with management teams, culinary departments, and event leadership to synchronize beverage service with event specifications and overall operational excellence.
The Beverage Supervisor is expected to manage a variety of service formats, including bars, receptions, premium areas, banquets, and special events. Flexibility in working varying shifts, including days and hours based on event schedules, is required. The role demands a proactive approach to training and onboarding staff, ensuring all team members are well-versed in service expectations and compliance with responsible alcohol service practices.
Additionally, the Beverage Supervisor is responsible for conducting pre-event or pre-shift meetings to communicate event details, review beverage menus, and emphasize service and compliance standards. The position requires the physical ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 50 pounds, reflecting the dynamic and hands-on nature of the job.
Sodexo offers a supportive and flexible work environment, promoting a healthy work-life balance to enable employees to be present for important personal moments. The company invests in its workforce by providing ongoing training, professional development opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package. These benefits include paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, vision plans, tuition reimbursement, 401k retirement plans, discount programs, and more. Certain locations may provide additional site-specific perks such as free or subsidized shift meals, uniforms, safety shoes, public transportation support, or parking.
At Sodexo, employees are encouraged to be authentic, share their ideas, and contribute to a team culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion. The company is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing fair treatment and respect to all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender identity, pregnancy, disability, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. The Beverage Supervisor role at the Indiana Convention Center offers a unique opportunity to grow a rewarding career within an influential global organization that prioritizes meaningful impact and employee well-being.
