Job Description
Carpenters Hall is a distinguished part of the Carpenter Hotel, located in the vibrant area of South Austin, just on the edge of Zilker Park. This hotel boasts 93 rooms that each feature a private terrace and is surrounded by lush natural beauty, including an old pecan grove. The location offers easy access to Lady Bird Lake, downtown Austin, and other notable attractions, providing guests with a luxurious yet comfortable stay. Carpenters Hall, the hotel's signature restaurant and bar, provides an all-day Coffee Bar, delightful patio dining, and an exquisite atmosphere that blends hospitality with a strong sense of community and local culture. Opening its doors in fall 2018, the Carpenter Hotel has cultivated a welcoming and unique ambiance that appeals to both locals and visitors alike.
The role of Beverage Manager at Carpenters Hall is crucial to maintaining and elevating the hotel's reputation as a premier destination for guests seeking exceptional beverage experiences. This position is designed for a dynamic individual who is passionate about beverage programming and eager to lead a team in delivering outstanding service. The Beverage Manager acts as the cultural heart of The Hall Bar, embodying its values and driving creative and operational excellence. This role involves overseeing daily bar operations, setting high standards for both product quality and guest experiences, and coaching the bar team to achieve consistent excellence. The Beverage Manager must maintain alignment with the company's vision and policies, encourage team development, and ensure every guest interaction exceeds expectations.
In addition to leadership and operational oversight, the Beverage Manager engages deeply with community outreach and marketing efforts to position Carpenters Hall as both a destination of choice for guests and an employer of choice for potential team members. Responsibilities include managing financial aspects such as budgeting and labor costs, refining organizational efficiency, and innovating beverage offerings by tracking industry trends. Communication skills and the ability to resolve conflicts skillfully are essential, as is adherence to company standards and legal requirements for alcoholic beverage service. The manager fosters a positive, educational work environment, ensuring each team member is motivated and equipped with the resources to succeed.
This position offers an opportunity to be part of a respected hospitality group that values employee well-being, diversity, and inclusion. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, a 401K plan with company match, generous paid time off, and unique perks like complimentary Headspace subscriptions and retail discounts. The Carpenter Hotel encourages interested candidates who are inspired to contribute to a collaborative and innovative team culture to apply, emphasizing the value of diverse backgrounds and experiences in building a stronger organization.
