Job Description
Monarch Casino Resort in Black Hawk is a premier 23-story resort featuring over 500 guest rooms, four distinctive restaurants, and one of the nation’s top spas. The Beverage Manager at Monarch Casino Resort Spa plays a key leadership role within the Food and Beverage department. This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $80,000 annually. The Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all beverage operations across the resort’s outlets, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, company policies, and financial controls. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where attention to detail, team management, and guest satisfaction are paramount.
Working directly under the Food and Beverage Manager, the Beverage Manager coordinates the activities of supervisory staff and ensures their administrative tasks are accurate and timely. They maintain strict adherence to beverage portion control policies, manage inventory systems with proficiency (Stratton Warren experience preferred), and lead recruitment efforts for key beverage roles including bartenders, cocktail servers, bar backs, and inventory controllers. The role demands excellent coaching, disciplinary abilities, and the capacity to manage schedules and training programs to develop team members’ skills and performance.
This position requires a flexible work schedule to accommodate all shifts, including weekends and holidays, embracing the demands of a dynamic hospitality environment. The Beverage Manager must be capable of meeting departmental budgets by closely monitoring operational costs and maximizing revenue streams to maintain profitability and effective cost control. Job Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- able to obtain and maintain a Colorado Support Gaming License
- 3-5 years previous food and/or beverage management experience in FOH operations
- relevant degree in hospitality program preferred
- ability to understand and apply financial reports

Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and maintain a Colorado Support Gaming License
- minimum 3-5 year previous food and/or beverage management experience required in FOH operations or relevant degree in hospitality program
- ability to understand financial reports and apply the information in a timely and practical fashion to improve the operation
- problem solving, quality control and priority assessment skills
- conflict management experience and ability to negotiate effectively
- strong information gathering skills to improve and maintain company objectives
- sales techniques and guest influence knowledge
- ability to understand measurements of liquid, weight, and temperatures
- basic to intermediate computer knowledge

- ability to push and pull up to 25lbs and occasionally up to 45lbs
- ability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Maintain accurate and proper comp and cash handling procedures
- use cash bank, cash register, cash drop, slot bank, and POS terminal functions in accordance with department policies
- proficiently operate inventory system (Stratton Warren experience preferred)
- interviewing, disciplining, developing/training and scheduling of staff
- lead team member shift meetings
- monitors and manages shift activities, opening and closing duties
- interacts with guests to resolve any guest issues
- works with other supervisors and line staff to facilitate a pleasurable dining experience for guests
- fills in for line staff when required
- demonstrates proactive leadership skills
- communicates well with guests and team members in a team environment
- must facilitate repeat business through pleasurable dining experiences
- other duties as assigned
