Job Description
McKibbon Hospitality is a respected leader in the hospitality industry, known for managing upscale hotels, restaurants, and event venues that prioritize exceptional guest experiences and community engagement. With a strong presence across multiple locations, McKibbon Hospitality focuses on creating welcoming environments where guests feel valued and associates thrive. The company is committed to upholding its core values and principles, which include thinking bigger, loving the community, doing the right thing, supporting each other, and making a lasting impression.
The role of Beverage Manager at McKibbon is a pivotal position within the restaurant and bar leadership team. This role is primarily accountable for the entire bar operation, ensuring that service quality, cleanliness, inventory management, and profitability meet or exceed established standards. Furthermore, the Beverage Manager may serve as the lead manager on duty during evening shifts, gaining exposure to broader hotel operations beyond the bar. This leadership role demands a commitment to guest satisfaction and enhancing the overall experience for all patrons.
As a Beverage Manager, you will have daily responsibilities that include moving throughout the facility to monitor the cleanliness and readiness of serving areas, supporting staff during service, and maintaining control over profit and loss elements affecting the bar. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with the hotel sales team to ensure meeting spaces are well supplied and managed, and coordinate with the Director of Food & Beverage and Executive Chef when planning food and beverage menus, pricing, and wine selections.
In addition to operational duties, the Beverage Manager is responsible for administrative tasks, such as tracking expenses, maintaining profitability, managing reservations using Open Table, and creating and executing checklists and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Inventory oversight is a critical part of the role, including budgeting, drink cost management, charging house accounts, and closing the bar several nights a week. Cash management duties—such as maintaining cash drawers, making change, opening banks, and closing out daily finances—are also essential.
Providing top-notch guest service is a fundamental expectation for the Beverage Manager. This includes completing table touches to ensure guests receive the highest level of hospitality and working alongside directors and chefs to develop unique experiences and events within the restaurants. Embracing and demonstrating McKibbon's guiding principles in every interaction with both guests and colleagues is vital to fostering a positive, productive environment.
Working at McKibbon Hospitality offers more than just a job; it offers the opportunity to work in a culture that values growth, creativity, and community involvement. Candidates who thrive in this environment will typically be proactive, personable, and dedicated to exceeding guest expectations. The Beverage Manager position is ideal for those who possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a desire to contribute meaningfully to a respected hospitality brand committed to both employee and guest satisfaction.
