The role available is focused on food preparation across various stations in the kitchen including appetizers, sandwiches, calzones, pizza, grilled dishes, and pasta, all according to Bertucci's high standards and specific recipes. They will also be responsible for inspecting stock levels, collaborating with management to determine daily preparation needs, organizing and storing food properly, and monitoring the functioning of kitchen equipment to avoid disruptions. Safety and sanitation are paramount, requiring adherence to state health department standards, proper use of food service equipment, and immediate clean-up of spills to prevent accidents. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation setting preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepare appetizers sandwiches calzones pizza grilled and pasta dishes according to Bertucci's specifications
  • Be knowledgeable in all behind-the-line areas to allow for flexible scheduling
  • Perform food rotation set-up and break-down of stations
  • Stock wood for ovens and present products attractively
  • Clean utensils and maintain a sanitary work environment
  • Ensure ovens coolers and freezers maintain accurate temperatures
  • Inspect stock levels review prep sheets with manager to establish daily prep list
  • Store unpack and retrieve food items properly in storage areas
  • Monitor and report equipment malfunctions arranging each item in sound working order
  • Follow food safety policies demonstrating correct use of equipment and utensils
  • Wipe up spills on counters and floors to prevent accidents
  • Maintain sanitary work area following State Health Department standards
