The role of Bench General Manager is a critical leadership position within the Mid-Atlantic Region of Aramark Collegiate Hospitality. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, managing, and guiding multiple contracted services that may include food service, facility support, custodial services, retail, lodging, and transportation. This position is ideal for a skilled operations manager who thrives in a dynamic service environment, capable of leading teams to deliver superior service aligned with client objectives and customer expectations. The Bench General Manager will have a strategic focus on relationship building, financial management, operational excellence, and safety compliance.
Key responsibilities will include leading teams that provide operational expertise and hands-on management across contracted services, ensuring that the clients and community relationships within the Mid-Atlantic locations are nurtured and maintained at the highest levels. The General Manager will continually assess operations, develop strategic improvement plans, and foster employee and customer satisfaction in a manner consistent with Aramark's standards. They will also play a pivotal role in building and developing a strong management team and support staff, capable of fulfilling organizational goals and commitments.
Financial acumen is essential in this role as the Bench General Manager will collaborate closely with Finance to manage budgets and seek continuous improvement opportunities to optimize financial performance and operational productivity. Compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations is mandatory, and the General Manager must ensure adherence to Aramark's safety standards and business conduct policies consistently.
This position requires frequent travel and possible relocation within the Mid-Atlantic region, reflecting the diverse operational sites under management. Candidates must be prepared for some physical demands related to the role and the possibility of wearing uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE). Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience in service industry, contract services, or hospitality
- Leadership experience managing teams
- Ability to manage budgets and financial analysis
- Effective communication skills
- Familiarity with contractual obligations
- Willingness to travel regularly and relocate within Mid-Atlantic Region
- Physical ability to meet role demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, walking, standing
- Willingness to wear uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree level education highly preferred in food service, hospitality, facilities, or business management
- Strong client and customer service focus
- Entrepreneurship and business growth orientation
- Effective interpersonal communication skills with clients, senior management, and support staff
- Ability to read, understand, and implement contractual requirements
- Experienced in service industry, contract services, or hospitality environment
- Proven ability in leading through other managers
- Skilled in creating and managing department budgets, financial controls, and analysis
- Experience in crafting product sales strategies and implementing operational initiatives
Job Duties
- Lead teams that provide operational expertise in contracted services while providing hands-on execution management of operations
- Manage clients and community relationships at various Collegiate Hospitality Mid-Atlantic locations
- Continually assess operations and develop plans to provide optimal service and drive employee and customer satisfaction
- Build, develop, and lead a management team and staff capable of carrying out organizational objectives
- Recommend methods, resources, and implementation for service improvement and growth based on operational needs and contractual obligations
- Manage budget in partnership with Finance and assist in designing improvements to optimize financial performance and operational productivity
- Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and maintain records and reports
- Travel regularly and relocate within the Mid-Atlantic Region as required
- Ensure compliance with Aramark's standards of operation including safety standards and Business Conduct Policy
