Marriott International operates various distinguished brands around the world, one of which is W Hotels, renowned for revolutionizing luxury hospitality with a vibrant and forward-thinking approach. W Hotels is dedicated to igniting curiosity and expanding the worlds of its guests by creating meaningful and memorable experiences through innovative design and cultural engagement.
W Hotels embraces a spirited and dynamic culture of openness and creativity, encouraging employees to deliver exceptional service with passion and innovation. The brand invites individuals who are original, innovative, and constantly seeking new possibilities to join its team, making it a stimulating workplace for professionals eager to thrive in the hospitality sector. The full-time role offered at the W Hotels located at 1567 Broadway, New York, NY, offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $18.04 to $24.05, with the opportunity to earn additional training and paid time off (PTO) at a rate of $31.00 to $41.33 per hour. This position is non-management but pivotal in contributing to the outstanding guest experience that Marriott International is known for.
This position focuses on providing exemplary guest service as a part of Rooms & Guest Services Operations. The role involves greeting and escorting guests to their rooms, offering assistance with doors, and providing valuable information about the hotel’s amenities, local attractions, and services. A significant part of the job includes assisting guests and visitors with luggage transportation to and from rooms and designated bell areas and assisting with luggage storage and retrieval. Duties further extend to helping guests with vehicle entry and exit, including loading and unloading luggage, arranging transportation such as taxis, shuttles, or limousine services, and communicating parking procedures clearly.
The role demands strong interpersonal skills as it requires direct interaction with guests, anticipating their needs, and enhancing their stay with genuine hospitality. It also involves observing safety protocols, maintaining personal and uniform appearance professionally, and ensuring confidentiality of proprietary information. Employees are expected to have physical endurance and the ability to move considerable weights with assistance. The work environment includes dynamic physical activities, such as walking, standing for long periods, bending, twisting, and navigating uneven surfaces. Employees must be proactive in reporting unsafe conditions and maintaining a secure environment for guests and staff alike.
The preferred qualifications for this position include a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; no prior related work or supervisory experience is required, making it an excellent entry-level opportunity for those enthusiastic about beginning a career in hospitality. The role is tip eligible, offering additional earning potential from guest gratuities. Joining W Hotels through Marriott International offers a platform to grow professionally within a robust global hotel network, while contributing to the legacy of luxury and innovation. If you possess a positive attitude, the ability to communicate effectively, and a passion for service excellence, this role provides the ideal setting to develop your career and become part of a United hospitality family where your best work can thrive.
