Job Description

As a Bellperson/Porter at Signia by Hilton San Jose, you are more than just a helper with luggage; you are an integral part of the guest experience. Your role is to create memorable, seamless interactions from the moment guests arrive until their departure. By warmly welcoming and assisting guests with their transportation and luggage needs, you embody the spirit of hospitality. This full-time role involves working shifts starting as early as 7:00 AM and ending as late as 11:00 PM, including weekends and holidays, to ensure guests receive consistent, top-notch service at all times.

The Bellperson/Porter duties include greeting guests, escorting them to their rooms, and introducing them to the hotel’s features and amenities. Your responsibility extends to handling luggage with great care, organizing and storing it as per hotel standards while operating property vehicles to transport guests to nearby destinations. Maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of bell carts and work areas is also essential to providing smooth daily service. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous hospitality or customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy luggage
  • Valid driver's license
  • Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must demonstrate integrity, leadership, and teamwork qualities

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in hospitality or a related customer service role preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle physical tasks including lifting and transporting luggage
  • Valid driver's license for operating hotel vehicles

  • Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Welcome and assist guests by greeting and escorting arriving and departing guests, transport luggage, and familiarize guests with their rooms and amenities
  • Handle luggage with care by retrieving, transporting, organizing, and storing guest luggage in accordance with hotel standards and procedures
  • Assist with guest transport by operating property vehicles to transport guests to and from designated destinations
  • Maintain equipment standards by keeping bell carts and work areas clean and in good working order
  • Uphold core hospitality values including integrity, leadership, teamwork, ownership, and a focus on delivering excellence
  • Provide exceptional guest service consistently during early morning to late evening shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate seamless guest experiences
