The position of Valet at The Ritz-Carlton St. Louis is a full-time, non-management role working the overnight shift from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am. This role is crucial to the seamless operation of guest services, providing a warm welcome and professional assistance to guests from the moment they arrive until they depart. The valet is the first and last point of physical contact with guests, often setting the tone for their entire experience at the property.
In this role, you will greet and escort guests to their rooms, opening doors and assisting with luggage transport to deliver top-tier service. You will inform guests about the property’s amenities, services, hours of operation, and local points of interest, enhancing their stay by helping them make the most of their visit. The valet service also includes arranging transportation such as taxis, shuttle buses, limousines, and sedans, ensuring that guests’ travel needs are efficiently met.
Physical stamina and attention to detail are essential, as the role demands moving, lifting, and carrying luggage weighing up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance. You will be expected to maintain a keen awareness of safety and security on the premises, reporting any accidents or unsafe conditions immediately. The role requires excellent communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding proprietary information.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Ability to work overnight shift from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am
- Ability to move, lift, and carry objects up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Ability to assist with heavier objects over 75 pounds with assistance
- Willingness to follow company policies and report unsafe conditions

Job Duties
- Greet and escort guests to rooms
- Open doors and assist guests and visitors entering and leaving property
- Inform guests of property amenities, services, and hours of operation, and local areas of interest and activities
- Identify and explain room features to guests
- Transport guest luggage to and from guest rooms and designated bell area
- Assist with luggage storage and retrieval
- Assist guests and visitors in and out of vehicles, including loading and unloading luggage
- Supply guests with directions
- Arrange transportation for guests and visitors and record advance transportation requests as needed
- Communicate parking procedures to guests and visitors
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager
- Maintain awareness of undesirable persons on property premises
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests, anticipate and address guests' service needs
