The role available is for a Bell Attendant, an essential part of the guest services team at Azul Hospitality. This full-time position focuses on greeting and welcoming guests as they arrive at the hotel, providing assistance with luggage handling for both arrivals and departures, and ensuring that guests receive professional and courteous service throughout their stay. The Bell Attendant serves as the first impression of the hotel, playing a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and supporting the hotel’s commitment to exceptional customer service.

The Bell Attendant's responsibilities include escorting guests to and from their rooms while assisting with luggage, informing guests about the hotel’s safety features, services, and recreational options, and offering pertinent information about local attractions and points of interest. This role requires maintaining the appearance and operational effectiveness of the check-in station, completing necessary daily paperwork, and supervising group baggage transfers and amenity deliveries to ensure they meet operational standards.

Additionally, the Bell Attendant will assist other departments with supply transport, maintain the valet stand and driveway area, and safely operate guest vehicles between designated parking and guest pick-up points. The position requires adherence to traffic laws and company safety policies, fostering a positive work environment, and following guidelines set forth in the employee handbook.

Physical demands involve both indoor and outdoor work, requiring the ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods, lift and push heavy items such as luggage and carts, and perform tasks that involve bending, stooping, and repetitive motions. The position demands excellent communication skills, attention to detail, basic computer knowledge, and customer service proficiency. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age (with certain driving duties requiring a minimum of 25 years), possess a valid driver’s license, and have a clean driving record with no recent substance abuse or serious traffic violations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years full-time verifiable driving experience with similar vehicles
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicles and 25 years old to operate shuttle or drive guests
  • Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in last 36 months
  • No speeding violations over 25 miles per hour above limit in last 36 months
  • No DUI convictions in last 5 years
  • No vehicular homicide, manslaughter, assault or felony vehicle use
  • No license suspensions or revocations
  • No reckless driving or speed contests
  • No leaving the scene of accidents
  • No eluding police officers
  • No operating a vehicle without owner’s permission
  • No using a cell phone while driving violations
  • Ability to stand for up to 4 hours and lift up to 45 lbs
  • Ability to push and pull carts weighing up to 250 lbs
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions and other physical duties
  • Must maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per company standards
  • Regular attendance and compliance with company policies

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license meeting company insurance requirements
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • Good communication skills including verbal, written, and electronic
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational abilities
  • Basic computer skills including Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, PBX, Key system, and POS
  • Ability to work independently and be self-driven
  • Knowledge of safety and security policies and procedures

Job Duties

  • Welcome and escort guests to and from their rooms and assist with luggage
  • Inform guests of all safety features and promote hotel outlets
  • Offer information on hotel services, facilities, and local attractions
  • Store guest luggage and assist with loading and unloading into and out of automobiles
  • Call taxis for guests upon request
  • Prepare and maintain tour and delivery paperwork ensuring accuracy
  • Supervise group baggage transfers and amenity deliveries
  • Maintain check-in station appearance and organization
  • Assist other departments with transport of boxes and supplies
  • Promote a positive working environment and follow employee handbook guidelines
  • Maintain cleanliness of valet stand, driveway, bell closet, and bell carts
  • Safely operate guest vehicles between parking and pick-up areas obeying traffic laws
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
