Known for its innovative approach, 21c Museum Hotels combines the elegance and comfort of a boutique hotel with the cultural enrichment of a multi-venue contemporary art museum. Guests not only enjoy beautifully designed rooms and exceptional hospitality but also immerse themselves in thought-provoking art exhibits and culinary excellence. This distinctive blend creates a lively and welcoming environment where art and hospitality intersect, attracting culturally curious travelers and art enthusiasts alike.
At 21c Museum Hotels, the emphasis is on creating moments of surprise and delight through personalized service that celebrates the community and art. The company fosters a culture of saying "YES," encouraging team members to be creative and engaged while providing exceptional experiences to guests. This role is part of a dynamic team that supports the hotel’s mission of delivering outstanding guest service and maintaining the property’s standards as an art destination.
The position available is for a Porter and Valet, reporting to the Front Office Manager or Rooms Manager. This role is vital in shaping the first and lasting impressions guests have during their stay. The Porter and Valet ensures guests' satisfaction by providing attentive and courteous service from arrival through departure. They assist guests by unloading and transporting luggage, parking vehicles, and helping with guest requests in a timely and professional manner. In addition to vehicle and luggage assistance, this role includes maintaining cleanliness and order at the hotel's entrance and lobby areas to present a pristine and welcoming environment.
The role demands a high level of responsibility, including driving vehicles with both manual (stick shift) and automatic transmissions, requiring proficiency in vehicle operation and safety. Porters and Valets must be dependable, punctual, and able to work flexible schedules including nights and weekends. Communication skills are key, as is the ability to engage guests with a friendly and positive attitude, sharing information about hotel amenities and local attractions to enrich the guest experience.
Physical stamina is important because the job involves prolonged standing, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting luggage up to 70 pounds. The position requires a professional appearance and a demonstrable enthusiasm for the brand and its unique blend of art and hospitality. A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and a successful background check are mandatory.
Joining 21c Museum Hotels means being part of a passionate team that values diversity and equal opportunity, committed to creating a welcoming workplace for all employees. As part of the team, you contribute to an environment where art lives and breathes, making every guest's stay memorable with exceptional service and a warm atmosphere. This full-time position invites candidates who thrive in a lively, art-centered hospitality setting and are eager to grow their skills in a supportive and creative environment.
