The Bell Person role is a vital position within the front office team, heavily contributing to the hotel's reputation for outstanding guest service and seamless operations. The Bell Person, often the first and last point of contact for guests, is responsible for greeting guests warmly upon arrival in the lobby, anticipating their needs, and making them feel genuinely welcome. This role requires escorting guests with their luggage, informing them about hotel amenities, and ensuring that VIP and returning guests receive personalized attention. The Bell Person also plays a crucial part in maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of the lobby and bell areas, as well as managing luggage storage safely and efficiently. Proficiency with hotel property management systems like Opera PMS is preferred to facilitate smooth communication and service coordination with the front office team. The position demands flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, demonstrating the hotel's commitment to accommodating guest needs at all times. Physical stamina is essential as the role involves extended periods of standing and lifting luggage weighing up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements
- High School diploma, general education degree or international equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 two years of customer service experience, preferably in a resort/full service hotel front office environment preferred
- Opera PMS experience preferred
- Ability to be on your feet and alert for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to50lbs. as needed (i.e. luggage)
- Continuous use of hands and arms
- Continuous bending, reaching, and twisting
- Maintains strong personal image and uniform standards

- Good knowledge of the English language is mandatory as well as the ability to speak, read and write clearly
- Bi-lingual a plus
Job Duties
- Greet all guests in the lobby in a warm and professional manner, make them feel welcome and anticipate their needs before they arise
- Recognize all returning and VIP guests and welcome them back
- Escort all guests checking in to their accommodations following hotel procedure
- Inform them about all hotel and guest room features, hotel facilities and emergency procedures
- Assist guests with their luggage and acknowledge them by name
- Make deliveries to guest rooms as instructed by the front office team
- Store and retrieve luggage and other personal belongings for guests
- Be aware of daily hotel activities, group, and VIP arrivals to ensure all guest are directed promptly and efficiently
- Ensure the lobby, bell closet and work areas as well as departmental equipment are always clean and presentable
- Communicate needs to the Guest Service Agent and or Front Office Manager/Manager on Duty when supplies are low
- Help guests and provide them with information requested and directions, escorting the guest whenever possible
- Complete daily shift checklist
- Knowledge and understanding of Opera Property Management System
