The role of the Door/Bell Person at Black Desert Resort is a pivotal position within the guest arrival and departure team. This role is not just about assisting guests with their luggage and transportation needs but also about creating an exceptional first and lasting impression that reflects the resort’s commitment to excellence. As the initial point of contact for arriving guests, the Door/Bell Person embodies the resort’s hospitality standards by warmly greeting guests, providing assistance with luggage, coordinating valet services, and supporting shuttle transportation. Beyond practical duties, this position demands a genuine ambassadorial presence, ensuring each guest feels welcomed, valued, and comfortable from the moment they arrive to the time they depart.
The Door/Bell Person is responsible for escorting guests to their rooms, explaining room features, and highlighting resort amenities to enhance the overall guest experience. Coordination with valet and shuttle teams is crucial to facilitating seamless vehicle and guest transitions. Additionally, this role involves responding promptly and courteously to guest inquiries and special requests, maintaining organized and clean service areas, and collaborating closely with departments such as Front Desk, Concierge, Valet, and Housekeeping to provide cohesive, high-quality service.
Ideal candidates bring at least one year of hospitality or guest service experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the physical ability to handle luggage and work in varying weather conditions. Holding a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is also required. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of hospitality or guest service experience preferred
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable standing, walking, lifting, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull loaded luggage carts
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Friendly, professional, and team-oriented demeanor
- Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and early/late shifts

Job Duties
- Greet and welcome all arriving guests with warmth and professionalism
- Assist guests with unloading luggage, providing luggage tags, and delivering items to guest rooms promptly
- Escort guests to their rooms and explain room features and resort amenities
- Coordinate with valet and shuttle teams for smooth vehicle or transportation transitions
- Assist guests in arranging shuttle transportation and provide directions or resort information
- Handle all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism
- Respond promptly to guest requests, inquiries, and special needs with accuracy and courtesy
- Maintain a clean and organized bell desk, lobby, and porte-cochere
- Monitor and manage guest luggage storage and retrieval
- Collaborate with Front Desk, Valet, Concierge, and Housekeeping to ensure cohesive service
- Support during high-traffic arrival and departure times and group check-ins
- Follow all safety, security, and guest confidentiality policies
- Provide resort information, promote amenities and events, and anticipate guest needs
- Attend mandatory trainings and orientations
- Other duties as assigned
